How competitive are Bet365's AFL odds?
Bet365 is not in the OzFootball AFL price feed, so its AFL odds have not been measured.
The Odds API lists bet365_au as an Australian bookmaker key, but it returned no AFL match prices for Bet365 at any point in 2026. Bet365 AFL prices are therefore not measured on this site.
The table below shows the 12 Australian bookmakers whose 2026 AFL prices were measured. Bet365 has no row because no comparable prices were available.

Regulator and court actions on the public record
- June 2016: the Federal Court ordered Hillside (Australia New Media) Pty Ltd and Hillside (Shared Services) Limited to pay $2.75 million in penalties for false representations in a "free bets" offer to new customers, following ACCC proceedings.
- December 2023: the ACMA found that bet365's Quick Code in-play betting service was a prohibited interactive gambling service under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, because bet details were sent through the website or app rather than wholly by voice call. bet365 changed the system and the ACMA decided not to take enforcement action at that time.
Rules that apply to every Australian online bookmaker
- Online in-play betting on sporting events is a prohibited interactive gambling service; a telephone betting service conducted wholly by voice call is excluded from the prohibition
- Credit cards, credit-linked funds (including digital wallets) and digital currency cannot be used for online or telephone wagering from 11 June 2024
- Customer identification must be completed before an online gambling account is created or a designated service provided (from 29 September 2024; interim arrangements from 29 September 2023)
- Online gambling providers cannot offer incentives to open an account or to refer another person to open an account (NCPF Measure 4)
- BetStop registration excludes the person from all Australian-licensed online and phone wagering providers; providers must close accounts and must not accept bets, open accounts or send marketing
- All online wagering providers must use one of seven national taglines with a call to action in advertising, direct marketing, websites and other communications (NCPF Measure 8, from 30 March 2023)

What customers say about Bet365
800 publicly available reviews analysed, 28 Sep 2026. These are third-party opinions, not OzFootball reviews, and a theme count does not verify any individual claim.
Positive themes
| Odds, prices and margins | 65 | |
| App usability and design | 63 | |

| Promotions, bonuses and rewards | 41 | |
| Withdrawal process and methods | 33 |
Method: Keyword rules (see TAXONOMY in scripts/research/classify-reviews.mjs) matched case-insensitively against review title + body. A review can hit several themes. Reviews with no keyword hit are counted as other. Sentiment from star rating: 4-5 positive, 1-2 negative, 3 neutral. Sources for the theme table: the 500 App Store AU reviews and the 300 Google Play AU reviews (800 total). ProductReview, Trustpilot and Reddit are reported as aggregates or thread counts only and are not in the theme table.
These are third-party public opinions, not OzFootball reviews, and none has been verified with bet365 or a regulator. A theme count shows what reviewers write about, not that any individual allegation is true.
App-store written reviews are self-selected and skew to the extremes: 68% of the 800 classified reviews are 1-star or 5-star. The store-wide averages (4.65 on the App Store AU, 4.6 on Google Play) come from far larger rating pools that include people who never wrote a review.
Keyword classification is approximate. Short reviews with no diagnostic words fall into 'other' (331 of 800, of which many are one-line praise or one-word complaints). Rules are in scripts/research/classify-reviews.mjs and can be re-run.
Google Play reviews were obtained through a third-party scraper (ReefAPI) because Google does not expose them without login; the scraper flagged the pull as PARTIAL and the sample covers 8 July to 26 September 2026 only.
The Google Play star histogram differs between the gl=AU page, the gl=GB page and the scraper; whether it is Australia-only was not verified.
The Trustpilot listing is global (www.bet365.com) and dominated by 1-star reviews from many countries; the bet365.com.au listing has 5 reviews. ProductReview.com.au has 6 reviews. None of these three is a usable measure of Australian customer sentiment on its own.
Reddit counts are thread counts from keyword searches in a handful of subreddits, filtered locally to the last 12 months; the search API did not honour its date filter and the relevant Australian set is small (20 threads). r/bet365 is US-oriented.
The App Store review feed is capped at 500 and Apple does not provide the rating histogram through the public API.
All figures were retrieved on 2026-09-28 and will drift; chart positions change daily.

Research methodology
What we checked ourselves
- Read and quoted the bet365 AU help centre, terms (version 7.9, effective 17 August 2026) and site feature pages listed under sources, 28 September 2026.
- Checked the operator against the NT Wagering Commission licensed operators list (65 rows) and the ACMA register CSV.
- Read the Apple App Store (AU) and Google Play (AU) listings through their public endpoints.
- Classified 800 public app-store reviews by theme with a fixed keyword rule set, and recorded the aggregate figures published by ProductReview and Trustpilot.
- Sampled AFL prices from The Odds API 30 times across the 2026 season and computed best-price frequency and margin for every bookmaker in the feed.
What we have not tested
- Opening an account, depositing, withdrawing, or contacting support.
- Live chat or phone response times, or whether a human agent is reachable by chat.
- Installing either app on a device in Australia.
- bet365's AFL prices, which are absent from the feed.
- Verification review times, which bet365 shows only inside a logged-in account.

Bet365 FAQ
Is bet365 legal in Australia, and who regulates it?
Yes. bet365.com.au is operated by Hillside (Australia New Media) Pty Limited (company number 148 920 665), which appears on the Northern Territory Wagering Commission's list of licensed wagering operators and on the ACMA register of licensed interactive gambling providers. The NT list does not publish a licence number or expiry. Three spellings of the regulator's name are in use across official sources: NT Wagering Commission, Northern Territory Wagering Commission and Northern Territory Racing and Wagering Commission.
Can you withdraw $100,000 from bet365?
By bank transfer, yes: the published range is $5 to $200,000 per withdrawal. Other methods have lower caps: debit card and Apple Pay $40,000, PayID $20,000, PayPal $12,500. The account must be fully verified before any withdrawal. Maximum winnings are also capped per sport per 24 hours; for AFL main markets that cap is $500,000.
How long does a bet365 withdrawal take?
bet365 publishes a processing time of 1 to 4 hours for bank transfer, debit card, PayPal and PayID, and says it aims to process within 2 hours. Apple Pay withdrawals are listed as instant but are paid by bank transfer or PayID. After bet365 has sent the money, the receiving bank's own clearing time applies, which bet365 does not control. Withdrawal delays were mentioned in 11 of the 800 public reviews analysed.
Why does bet365 ask for verification, and can I withdraw without it?
No. bet365 states that an account must be fully verified to withdraw, and that verification may also be required before depositing or placing a bet. Since 29 September 2024 AUSTRAC requires online gambling providers to complete customer identification before an account is opened or a service provided. Documents must show all four corners, ID must be in date, and proof of address must be dated within the last three months.
Will bet365 limit or close my account if I win?
bet365 publishes that maximum stakes vary by bet type and odds and that larger stakes are referred to traders; it does not publish a policy on limiting winning accounts. Account restrictions, limits and closures were mentioned in 59 of the 800 public reviews analysed, 53 of them in negative reviews. Those are third-party reports and do not establish how often it happens.
Is Sportsbet or bet365 better for AFL odds?
Sportsbet matched the best available AFL price in 37.0% of 1,100 comparable prices sampled across the 2026 season, with a mean margin of 5.51%. bet365 could not be measured because its AFL prices are not in the OzFootball odds feed. The full ranking of the 12 measured bookmakers is on this page.
Can I use a credit card on bet365?
No. Credit cards, credit-linked funds (including digital wallets) and digital currency have been banned for online and telephone wagering in Australia since 11 June 2024. bet365's deposit page lists debit cards, Apple Pay, PayID, PayPal, Google Pay and bank transfer.
Does bet365 have a sign-up bonus or bonus code in Australia?
No. Under the National Consumer Protection Framework for online wagering, online gambling providers cannot offer any incentive to open an account or to refer someone else to open one. That has applied since 26 May 2019 (26 November 2019 in New South Wales). OzFootball does not publish promotional offers.
How do I contact bet365 Australia or make a complaint?
Live chat and phone are published as 24/7: freephone 1800 200 365 or local rate 08 8936 5307. There is a webform on the help centre and a postal address (PO Box 113, Parap NT 0804). bet365 says it aims to respond to complaints within 48 hours. After its final response, a complaint can be escalated to the Northern Territory Wagering Commission's complaint form.
Who owns bet365 in Australia?
The Australian operator is Hillside (Australia New Media) Pty Limited, incorporated in Australia with its registered office at Level 27, 100 Mount Street, North Sydney. The apps are published by Hillside Technology Limited, a UK company. The wider group's ownership was not part of this research.
Has bet365 been fined or investigated in Australia?
Yes. In June 2016 the Federal Court ordered Hillside (Australia New Media) Pty Ltd and Hillside (Shared Services) Limited to pay $2.75 million in penalties for misrepresenting a "free bets" offer, following ACCC action. In December 2023 the ACMA published an investigation report finding that bet365's Quick Code in-play betting service was not compliant with the Interactive Gambling Act; bet365 changed the system and the ACMA decided not to take enforcement action at that time.
What is the maximum payout on bet365 in Australia?
Maximum winnings are set per sport per 24-hour period, exclusive of stake. For AFL, outrights, match handicap, match totals and match winner markets are capped at $500,000 and all other AFL markets at $50,000. Other Australian Rules competitions are capped at $50,000.
