AFL Fantasy scores from these nine stats and nothing else. There is no disposal row, so 20 kicks and 10 handballs is 80 points while 10 kicks and 20 handballs is 70. Every hitout counts. AFLW Fantasy uses the same table, so an AFLW stat line can be entered without adjustment. KFC SuperCoach is not covered here: it runs on Champion Data Ranking Points across more than 50 categories whose weights have never been published, and it needs inputs no public box score contains.
How the AFL Fantasy Score Calculator works
AFL Fantasy scores from nine stats and nothing else. A kick is 3 points, a handball 2, a mark 3, a tackle 4, a goal 6, a behind 1, a hitout 1, a free kick for 1, and a free kick against costs 3. Add those nine contributions and you have the score. There is no disposal row: disposals are kicks plus handballs, but the points come from the split, so 20 kicks and 10 handballs is 80 points while 10 kicks and 20 handballs is 70. Every hitout counts, because the hitout-to-advantage distinction belongs to a different game.
The same nine-stat table is used for AFLW Fantasy, so a stat line from either competition scores the same way here. This calculator covers AFL Fantasy only. KFC SuperCoach uses Champion Data Ranking Points across more than 50 categories, with weights that have never been published and inputs that no public box score contains, so it cannot be reproduced from a stat line. Rather than ship an estimate dressed up as a calculation, the SuperCoach question is answered in the FAQ below.
FP = 3K + 2H + 3M + 4T + 6G + B + HO + FF - 3FA Kick 3, handball 2, mark 3, tackle 4, goal 6, behind 1, hitout 1, free kick for 1, free kick against -3
Example
A stat line of 20 kicks, 10 handballs, 6 marks, 5 tackles, 2 goals, 1 behind, 0 hitouts, 1 free kick for and 1 free kick against scores 60 + 20 + 18 + 20 + 12 + 1 + 0 + 1 - 3 = 129 Fantasy points.
How to use it
- Enter kicks and handballs, for example 20 and 10.
- Enter marks, tackles, goals and behinds, for example 6, 5, 2 and 1.
- Enter hitouts and free kicks for and against, for example 0, 1 and 1.
- Read the total Fantasy score and each stat contribution beside it.
AFL Fantasy Score Calculator FAQ
How many points is a disposal worth in AFL Fantasy?
There is no disposal scoring row. A disposal is a kick or a handball, and the two score differently: a kick is worth 3 points and a handball 2. So a player with 30 disposals can score anywhere from 60 points, if all 30 are handballs, to 90 points if all 30 are kicks, before any marks, tackles or goals are counted. That is why kick-heavy midfielders and defenders outscore handball-heavy players on identical disposal counts.
Why is there no SuperCoach option?
KFC SuperCoach is built on Champion Data Ranking Points across more than 50 categories whose weights are commercial property and have never been published. The score also depends on inputs no public box score contains, including disposal effectiveness on each individual event, the zone of the ground an action occurred in, and a state-of-game multiplier scaled by margin and time remaining, with each match scaled so 44 players sum to roughly 3,300. Reproducing it from a stat line is not possible, so this calculator does not claim to.
How close can a SuperCoach estimate get?
Third-party reverse-engineering exists and the best published linear model reaches an R2 of 0.968 with a mean absolute error of 4.23 points per player per match. That is close enough to be interesting and far too loose to settle a trade or a captaincy call, where a handful of points decides the outcome. Any tool presenting a SuperCoach figure from a box score is producing an approximation of that kind, whether or not it says so, and the underlying weights remain unpublished.
Do all hitouts count in AFL Fantasy?
Yes. Every hitout scores 1 point in AFL Fantasy, regardless of whether it went to a teammate. The hitout-to-advantage distinction that ruckmen are often discussed through belongs to SuperCoach scoring, not to Fantasy. That difference is the single biggest reason a ruckman can look strong in one format and ordinary in the other on the same match, since a high hitout count with poor direction is fully rewarded in Fantasy and heavily discounted elsewhere.
Does AFLW Fantasy score the same way?
Yes. AFLW Fantasy uses the same nine-stat table with the same values: kick 3, handball 2, mark 3, tackle 4, goal 6, behind 1, hitout 1, free kick for 1 and free kick against minus 3. So a stat line from an AFLW match can be entered here without any adjustment. Raw scores tend to run lower because AFLW matches are shorter and produce fewer disposals, not because any stat is weighted differently.
