Son of former Sydney Swans legend Brett Kirk has landed on our list. Indhi Kirk, 21 years of age, 181cm. Played 18 VFL games this year for Sydney 5 best ons and 5 goals. Has been allocated jumper number 11. Total of 35 VFL games so probably cost around 5 points I’m guessing?
Fred Brayshaw been allocated Thorne’s old number 32 who has been moved to 99. No real surprise there. The list continues to change. If Indhi is half as good as his old man he’ll be handy at WAFL level. Another Mark Stone connection maybe from his time at Sydney?
Surprised to hear Ex Geelong, Port and Freo mid Narkle has signed to play in the Bendigo League next year…thought he would be a monty to head back to play for Perth in 2026.
Yes Freezin, not only the Geelong connection but he played colts with Corey Byrne and was only 1 point for Perth. A pretty minor league for him to play in for a recent ex AFL player.
Hearing that too but I’m hoping the club is doing everything to keep him here. External factors I believe. Agree I think he just gave us glimpses of his ability. Chaplin returning would offset his loss but I’d rather we have both. Glass-McCasker committed for 2026 yesterday which is great news.
He was ok without being outstanding. His best game was his last before getting injured. 4 goals against Swans which was a match winning performance. Good news about Glass-McCasker.
Coen Livingstone has now been delisted. He may be useful although I’m not sure he would be a walk up start in the league side. Edwards, Schlensog, Clarke all ahead of him, and even Glass-McCasker and Jacques have done well in their few games.
Was expecting this. Hopefully wants to come back and play with his 2023 GF team mates even though he didn’t play. Agree would need to improve to win a place in the side. Handy extra tall forward and back up ruck.
There’s an Emily Livingstone on our list 16 years of age must be in our Rogers Cup team. I assume it’s his sister so may want to be around to support her.
Agree that Livingstone would struggle to get a game. As well as the 5 players mentioned by Cess, he would be behind Johnston. Still, the wisdom is that tall players take longer to develop and, especially as a 1 point player, I’d welcome him back. I have to confess I’m not entirely across the points system - not having played an AFL game, how much would he cost another club? That may be a critical factor if another club is in dire need of a ruck/tall forward while we are in the unaccustomed position of having some depth in that area. Same might apply if we are interested in Wade Derksen - if he is a low point player, he may be worth looking at, but where would another 197cm KPP fit in?
I mention Wade on the basis that he may want to play with his brother, but that of course assumes that Zach is playing. I hope he does. He’s not a high possession player, but he kicked around 30 goals. As DF said, a forward line of Clarke, Schlensog, Paton and Derksen is going to be a handful for most defences.
TN, I think you will find that Livingstone is an ex AFL listed-non district player less than 50 games, which I think makes him a 5 point player for another team.
I may be wrong.
TN, whilst I commented that Wade Derksen would be a nice pick up I think I heard somewhere he had interest from other AFL clubs. He would be a 5 point player I think.
Not sure of our points position but I think we may getting close.
