Tedesco has been a form midfielder,but I’m not unhappy with a reshuffle of the Middleton/Graham forward combination which has allowed the inclusion of Axel Walsh,so there is no excuses as far as I’m concerned.
Yes there is an excuse- missing two of our best mids in Scott and Teddy, our best fwd from our first final, our qtr back in stan as they now call it plus our fastest midfielder in Lindberg and not taking into account kye, stephens and watts..take that many keys out of a team and your not competitive..the boys have been great to get this far but there is definitely a legitimate excuse if they lose

Jones is the key Dev,and we’ll still have Hammer,Pebbles,North running through the middle,and if we control the stoppages I still think we’ll win,particularly if this 202cm kid lives up to his big hype,and let’s not forget we won’t have the luxury of playing him and Soutar next year.
Exciting to see EP roll the dice on young Walsh…why not I say…youth and exuberance, plus talent, goes a long way in energizing those around them. At 202cm, with the mobility and agility of a mid, the kid should be entertaining to watch at least and difficult to man up on. Pretty sure Perth will have to be wary of him, ignore or discount him due to his age, might result in one of those Judd like EP debut performances…who knows, just adds a tad of spectacle to the game, as Walsh won’t be in EP colours for much longer sadly.
I read that he will be too young to be drafted for next year and if the Tassie Devils come calling, he and his Manager can reject them if they think that going there may not be in his best interests.
Whether or not that is all true, we will find out in time.
Agree 100% about jonesy especially if its wet..our mids are still strong but what worries me is that hammer is still on limited minutes as will be pebbles..after seeing what happened last night, anything is possible
I’ve always thought Freo would be vulnerable in wet conditions under finals pressure,at the pointy end of the season.
I would’ve preferred his debut in drier conditions but at least he’s in.
Correct OTO. He isnt eligible to be drafted this year (born in 2009) but Tassie can prelist him as GCS & GWS did with a couple of WA boys back in 2010 & 2011. But he doesnt have to go if he doesnt want to…

It would be nice if we could get at least one Senior season out of him and if brother Xavier (delisted by Port) comes back, the possibility is that we could have both in the same side.

Of course he will go, will get decent coin for playing VFL for Tassie as an 18 yr old, far more then what he will get at EP…and a foot in the door for an AFL career…ditto for EF James Artemis…and no doubt Troy Warner, Aiden Martignago and Jayke Taylor in 2028…

Grump I assume you are talking about the Jones/Dean incident. I discovered only today that the WAFL are trialing a new " Blue card rule" where if there is a collision which causes one player to come off the ground for a HIA, the other player can be given a blue card which means he is sent to the sin bin for 15 mins while the injured player is assessed. Doesnt necessarily mean that Jones was reported. Seemed to me just an unfortunate collision with no malice on Jones part
