Tour of Zimbabwe and South Africa

According to the team management, Green and Inglis are fit and available for selection.

Still thinking how stupid that shot by Smith was last night. Especially with a number 11 playing so sensibly up the other end

It reeked of he didnt want to be out there Mike.
Even more stupid when you consider SA were down a bowler (Nortje) and were bowling for 2 days straight after making Australia follow on and then the weather conditions eg fading light and rain in the offing if he could just bat out the day like WA did yesterday!

Inglis’ finger should be right by now,but I’m not sure Cam’s bod is going to hold up.

If Csm can’t bowl,sorry.He doesn’t play,…

Mate, Steve Smith does what Steve Smith wants…it was a terrible shot, irrespective of a sore neck or not…so disrespectful to the grind of Boland…sums up Smith and his ego sadly…just retire after the NZ series Smudge, get the send off you obviously deserve, but also silently crave…

Good article today in Granny Herald by Geoff Lawson about the Selectors’ disregard for the Sheffield Shield, whilst holding up the aging Test Team.

Not paywalled(yet),do have a look.

Maddinson won’t be playing. Steve Smith undergoing a fitness test at training. the full XI yet to be announced. Renshaw will probably open with Head. Green and Inglis may both slot into the batting order depending on what happens with Marnus

sounds like they are still unsure who should be playing

If they are going to take in a front line spinner I reckon Kuenemann would be a better bet than Lyon. The Saffers havent seen much of him and they are predominantly Right handers which he does have a good record against. Probably won’t happen

No it’s simpler than that

Green has told the George McDonald foundation that he bats at 4 or 5

now the whole test side revolves around it

already rumblings that it’s a coin flip on Boland now

the foundation will drop Scotty

and bring back the Greatest Grandad

3 changes according to Tom Morris
IN: Green, Connelly and Lyon
OUT: Webster, Maddinson, Boland
Maddinson already on his way home to play in the shield

Would Maddinson get a game in that NSW batting line up?

Just watched some vision of Steve Smith batting in the nets yesterday. He looked troubled by the neck injury. Even defensive shots seemed to hurt him. It would be very risky to play him IMO even though he has held the batting together for so many years. He was hit on the head in the first test and that seems to have got him worried too and his batting has declined somewhat, which is understandable. Im wondering if he might retire after this summer

When does this Summer finish?

At the end of March?

Then there’s The Ashes, the Farewell Home Series after,…..

Any Series against India coming up?

Good point. I was thinking he might have his swansong at the new year test against the Kiwis like Uzzie did last year. He just doesnt seem as invested as he used to be

Can’t believe they have left Scotty out again. Then again maybe I can

You watch Maddo take Davies place mate .. but in all honesty Haddin will bat Maddo at 6…not sure how even Maddo gets into NSW top 6 TBH

Mate it was a given…

Yes mate, some of us were quick to note this some 5 years ago…

And for those who want to go on about the results fair dinkum a drovers dog could coach Australia to victory over most of the cricket world these days - Pakistan, Sri Lanka West Indies are a shadow of their previous selves.
Its also worth noting we have won no Test series overseas against any of the big 3 India, England or South Africa under the current regime!
But we have lost home Test matches to minnows in Bangladesh & West Indies!

Smith ruled out with that neck injury.
Could they pick 3 West Aussies for this Test?
