I might have said Sam needed a spell at Shield Level,but being young,had plenty of time to work on his game to enable a return to The Baggy Green.
He’s an exciting player,who just needed to finetune his batting a touch.
Ever chance the game will be done by stumps tonight. 99 FFS, South Africa might bat for an hour or two to rub it in and give their bowlers a rest. Spineless batting performance.

Hopefully the likes of McDonald, Bailey, DiVenuto, Maddinson etc are rock n rolled for good!

Sadly, Mike, you’ll probably be proven correct.
Let’s hope that the boys can show far more character and resolve than they have in the past four and a bit sessions.
Several (Maddinson, Labuschagne and Webster, to name but three) are playing for the their Test futures.
It was the lack of fight by the whole team that shocked me. For once the bowlers conceded far too many runs and exposed the batting line up for the dysfunctional unit it is. Sadly we may be lookjng at a few more scorelinea like this in rhe next few years. I just hope they can at least show more fight in rhe 2nd innings and take the game into the 5th day
