You must be talking about Mark Nicholas BC. He commentated for channel 9 for a few years in Australia before they thankfully gave him the flick. A real FIGJAM
“Smashing,Baby!”
12th Man Mark.
had to be Boland didn’t it?
unfortunately South Africa have wriggled away
Still have plenty of time to blow Australia away on this wicket
Great innings from Bavuma but gee with the exception of Boland, the rest of the attack has been impotent and are looking like an aging creaking side.
Cummins has been average so far on this tour.
Pommie Mbangwa the ex Zimbabwe cricketer BC.
He has been commentating over there for close to 20 years now.
Bring back Mike Haysman the ex South Aussie batsman I say!
South Africa have absolutely pummeled Dads Army in to submission today.
As for the clown(s) who picked Freeze’s mate Maddinson, they should be frog marched back over the Indian Ocean, preferably to NZ!
When Scott Boland has a better batting technique than one of your openers, surely something is seriously wrong. Maddinson is not up to test standard. Whatever the result of this game, Renshaw needs to open the batting in the next test
Lol…and if Renshaw had opened and knicked off, the doom and gloomers would of said why was BH’s boy opening, he made runs at 5…it is what it is…the Aust bowlers decrepit and old one day, winning games the next…the life of the fickle fan i guess…kudos to SA and especially the skipper for showing some fight, and putting some heat back on Aust.
Put your literacy glasses back on BH, never said Maddo was the right selection, just believe once picked, you gotta back any player suiting up for Aust …and wish them the best…despite ones own preferences…
The pitch looks better to bat on, especially since SA lower order made 300 odd on it…gotta hope once Aust gets through the new ball, they can score as many as SA did…if it means your boy Renshaw scores them again BH, who cares, as long as someone does.
Maddo was the sacrificial lamb, Rabada didn’t bowl a 2nd over mikeh…why was that? If you want to lose one wicket before stumps, better to lose one which won’t mean anything I guess…not sure why all the fuss…just means Maddo is closer to being dropped…isn’t that what folk want?
Maddinson faced 4 balls Mike and not one did he have to play at but he feels like he has to put bat on ball to every delivery, just a big bash slogger.
He was hopeless first time around when chosen to play 3 Tests and 10 years later he is still hopeless (much like the selectors who chose him).
I said 10 years ago he was the worst Test batsman we have chosen since Warneys mate Rob Quiney remember him? Warne was a champion cricketer but a poor judge of a cricketer as he rated Quiney, Beer etc…
6 for 110
To 425
Looks eerily similar to the first test
And we know how that ended
We’ll be blitzed for 100
If that today
The negativity on this forum is endearing…the selectors are clueless, the coach is a clown, the team is full of Captain Mainwaring’s, Sergeant Wilson’s and Lance Corporal Jones…oh for a Private Pike or 3…the bowlers are old and wilted, and the top six are like a pavlova…in the words of Private Frazer, “we are all doomed”.
Rabada only bowled the one over due to light.
However more pressing regardless of the attack is yesterday was a key reason why you should always play a spinner, when they got away from the quicks we had no one to change the pace of the ball and tie up an end
Ok,Boland Out,Lyon In,…
Of course you know, none of the other 3 Pace Bowlers will drop out, unless injured?!
That dodgy prawn that Hazlewood ate had a fair bit to do with it. He waa struggling yesterday which increased the workload on the other bowlers. Rare to see Cummins so ineffective
South Africa will come hard today as they know that their only hope is to bowl Australia out cheaply in the first innings
The Challenge for Australia will be that there is now only one team that can win from here, and that’s the team with 420 odd runs in the bank. Rain is the aussie saviour now, because with 2 days left there is not enough time to build a lead big enough to bowl them out a second time
I think the forecast was for Fine Weather the last 3 Days of the Test.
Even though we gifted them a tonne of runs, the pitch seems to be playing ok for Batsmen now.
It’s seeing off Rabada that’s the key.
Rain the Aussie saviour PH? Geez if Bavuma, Jansen and Harmer can get SA from 110 to 425…would like to think under the sun, on a flattening Day 4 - technically day 3 pitch due to play lost, I’d be disappointed if Aust can’t match SA score…plus with Aust being 1-0 up in a 3 test series…pretty sure SA have to win this game to keep the series alive.
@Freezin not sure i have the same faith in the batting lineup you do, and i can see a world where we are 4 or 5 down today before lunch which leaves the door open for South Africa
