Team of century

how did Phil K miss out?

Not fair to suggest who Phil replaces, but he could fit in ahead of 2 on the bench,or get squeezed in as one more Interchange,…

Doc Aitken CHB or back flank?

Blackwell jnr and Richo on the half forward flank unlucky, too.

Very good, nay Great Lineup, even with Phil’s shock omission.

My 3 Favourites would be Jim Krakouer,Denis Marshall and Les McClements.

With all due respect

there is no way on this earthly realm

and 75% of the moon

that either Crabb or Jones is anywhere near Philip

but it’s Claremont’s call I guess after all

In assessing eligible players the selection committee considered the player’s achievements at CFC and other VFL, AFL and interstate clubs. These achievements included:

  • Games played - minimum 50 games.

  • Premierships played

  • Goals scored

  • Club Fairest and Best awards

  • WAFL, VFL, AFL awards

  • State representation

  • All Australian selection

  • Hall of Fame selection

  • Coaching record

Jaxon played close to 200 games for Claremont, club Captain, 3 x B&F winner and Sandover medalist. Also represented WA a number of times and also captained WA. With 2 stints in the AFL.

AJ played nearly 150 games for Claremont, club captain, state honours including captain, State of Origin, Claremont Leading Goal for 4 consecutive seasons and Sandover medalist. 80 games for Fremantle. Assist League coach for several seasons too.

Yeah no worries mate

Claremont’s call ultimately

but Phillip is in any team of the century I’ve witnessed personally

Neither of that two get close

I think you will always have players unlucky.

I would have the midfielders of the 90’s - Pyke, Evans, Green and then Richardson, Mitchell, K ahead of Bolton, Crabb and Jones. The former were premiership stars as well.

Phil Krakouer is as stiff as a honeymooner’s mate……not to be in that side ahead of at least a handful. In my time watching WAFL footy and footy in general (close to 50 years) there has been no more exciting duo than Jim & Phil together on the park. Phil played in an era where the WAFL was at its zenith and the VFL/AFL probably the same and he was a superstar in both. Not sure those chosen from this century could claim that in what is a far inferior WAFL & AFL!

Of course brother

He tore up every single WANFL side he played against at some point

He would have held numerous goals of the week in my memory and that is certain

I had to smile at Crabb and Jones

Thought Moss might be coach too given the reconstruction into a power after many years of barren time

Claremont however do have that right to select with respect

Listening to WAFL world, it seems Blackwell junior might have made it, not Blackwell senior. That sounds weird. Maybe I got it wrong.

Good pick up JL, they’ve named son Luke. Has to be Wayne.
