Suddenly, now that the Bulldogs are out, I am barracking for anyone but Fremantle. I never did like them anyway.
OTO, based on the reason outlined by RNB, I think there will be many EP and Claremont supporters hoping that Geelong can dispense with Freo.
There’s no way around it, Jones gets a minimum 3 weeks. High contact, High force that results in a concussion, at least very careless. These days, wouldn’t be surprised if sent straight to tribunal and ends up with 5 - very, very ordinary and can’t understand how he was able to come back on the ground.

Good analogy, and not only did Perth lose Dean but it effected rotations and also defensive structure. If Jones had been sent off Kuek would have spent less time forward and been less destructive. Result of this would be we are still alive.
Having said that we dropped the ball in the last qtr anyway.
Looking at the replay at least 2 goals from Schofield marks in the goal square probably a result of Charlie Dean’s absence and he would have been crucial in those dying minutes and seconds.
The rules around situations like this need to change. A player sent off must not be allowed back on until the victim returns. If the victim does not return, neither should the perpetrator. I fully accept that, in this particular case, there was no malice. It was, however, very reckless and resulted in a huge advantage to Eadt Perth. If Jones gets three weeks, that’s a big advantage for East Perth’s next three opponents but remains a huge unfair disadvantage to Perth. It simply was not fair.

Have you guys won a finals since playing your first one in decades a few years ago?
This season was your best performance in years and you went out in straight sets, given the concessions your club have been given and the big spend on recruits, I have to agree with your take - the old slap on back brave effort boys is wearing a bit thin after bowing out without a finals win in 2026 against a very undermanned EP at home and at full strenght.
In saying that the gap between the top 1-2 teams Peel and Claremont and the rest this season has been marked particularly in the finals season, I don’t think any of the bottom 3/5 had any really chance - if EP knock off Claremont good on them, but they are going in very undermanned as it is.
I suspect if Percy represents Jonesy tonight,he may well get off.
Especially if they grill the Umpires for any contradictory evidence,like Subi did on another,albeit different matter.
Perth should have won this game gents Regardless of the concussion. Seriously, your at full strength and we were missing 8 of our best 23, you should have won with us having that many out but you didnt. Great game but gotta move on from what if’s..plus you were well on top at 3qtr time but got run over by a team who had one less day recovery and who played in the heat then we lost players..ur a great club gents but the result is done, leave the what if’s and best of luck for 2027

Now the hard work to retain players starts. We are close but can’t afford to lose any of the core. Keep building around Constable, Taylor, Parfitt, Byrne and Dean. Harding (outstanding in finals), Scoble and Johnston all have next level traits and Phillip, Hine-Baston and Tilbee showed they can take the league apart. This along with a healthy Schlensog, provides enough to be excited about for 2027.

We defeated EF in the elimination final last year in front of about 6000 at Good Grocer.
Percy Penguin will be using all the tricks he has in his kit bag from decades of getting low life’s off. Looking a bit frail these days.
Probably knows the Subi silk who got Schofield off.Same one who put the Heat on the WAFC,with a rather Direct Letter over the same matter?

East Perth’s Scott Jones has been sent directly to the WAFL tribunal to face a charge of rough conduct ahead of their preliminary final against Claremont.
The report against Perth’s Brandan Parfitt for striking Jayden Peak has been withdrawn by the match review panel.
Good. I hope the tribunal come down hard and hit him with a hefty suspension of 5 plus weeks.
