Nothing ever seems to be fair for some of you poor old Perth supporters, everything is always someone else’s fault.
Nobody has ever had a player concussed in a game, never happened, but Perth want the rules changed, so if one of their players can’t continue with concussion they want the player who ran into them sent off for the rest of the game.
May be you should go play in the PFL, they have red and yellow cards for such instances under their rules.
Or do you just want all the other WAFL clubs to roll over for one year, let you win a flag or would you complain that you didn’t win by enough and that’s not fair either?
You were up against a undermanned side with no time left to play. No one bothered to show the 17 yo any respect by manning up on him and it cost you.
The same thing happened to Tom Edwards against Perth in the last round of 2024 causing him to miss 2 of our 3 finals, he would have missed all 3 of our finals if the Prelim was played on a Saturday instead of Sunday. Should Brogan-Henry have been suspended for 3-5 weeks as well?
Don’t get carried away tiger. He’s concussed a player and needs to cop his whack that’s all. We all know to much about concussion and the effects so he needs to get a long suspension for a pretty ordinary act !!

TT if you’re referring to my post then you need to understand my post. My comment wasn’t just about Perth. It was about ANY team in that situation and the rule in general. If any player whose actions, whether deliberate or reckless, result in a concussion protocol and the perpetrator is sent off, then the perpetrator should not be allowed to return to the field until the potentially concussed player returns. If the victim is cleared of concussion and returns then so too should the perpetrator. Yes my post used Saturday’s incident as an example. My comments, though, were my opinion about what I think should happen in any future similar situation.
The umpiring panel have deemed the out of bounds call in the last minutes of the game was wrong. The umpire has been disciplined and will lose umpiring the GF. That mistake gave EP the advantage and they scored a goal.

Jones to me was a throw back to the Dermie, Ryhs-Jones, Carl Dietrich days. An ear massage disguised as a spoil. Dean was a sitting duck with arms outstretched and eyes on the footy cleaned up by a 206cm behemoth.
Heard that well whoever out of EP and Claremont plays Freo in the GF regardless if they play 12 or 17 Fremantle players, if they play the likes of Tardrew, Hunter, Mathey etc… then lodge a fking protest and say Peel didn’t play by the rules section 8 or whatever and get the result overturned.

I understand your post CM, you weren’t happy that a Perth player was concussed during the match and you want the rules changed. It’s also the only time you’ve brought this is up, not when another clubs player has been concussed, so reads like sour grapes after a loss.
What you’re asking for is the umpires to presume the player who infringed, deliberately or accidentally, is guilty and remove them from the field. What if the player isn’t concussed, passes the HIA, and returns to the field? And what about the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.
Why should the ‘offending’ player and the their team be disadvantaged and what’s the risk that teams might use such a rule change to their advantage?
Also how does a concussion differ from any other contact injury that results in the player not taking any further part in the game? Or would you be happy to have a player sent off for the remainder of the game if they gave another player who couldn’t continue playing with a cork or hurt their shoulder etc.
The WAFL has rules in place to deal with players who step outside the rules of the game and the tribunal will deal with the issue, if Jones is firstly found guilty and if a suspension warranted.

Umpires have a tough enough job with all the rule changes and interpretations as it is. Why ask them to do more? And with much bigger consequences for players and teams if they get it wrong too.
The WAFL trialled yellow and red cards previously and it was a complete failure.
As I asked, why do you see a concussion injury different to another contact injury that sees the injured player unable to return to the game? Why should they be adjudicated differently?
Love to hear your opinion about why you think one player should be presumed guilty before innocent whilst others should be presumed innocent before guilty?
Pretty simple really, one very important player took another very important player from the opposition out of the game 17 minutes into the first qtr resulting in East Perth having a massive advantage from that moment on. If Jones is also made to sit out the rest of the game we win. Simple.
There’s 4 umpires out there all they need to do is concur with each who the player was who made the contact.
