List changes for 2026

Gee, I wonder how Edwards and Jacques feel about this. I would like to hang onto them all. BTW - my tip for inside mid with a big body is Jacob Roberts (190cm).

Harding and Edwards to share ruck duties with Shlong at CHF, we go to 23 on the field this year.

I’m not sure Harding has been recruited to be an understudy.
He looks like a serious talent (from the few highlights I saw).
If Edwards or Jaques want to be number one they may have to earn it.
I think there are new rules around the ruck this year.
Which may be will favour an athletic ruckman and maybe there are a couple (ruckmen) in the league that may not be as dominant as before.

Could be right though let the kid develop in a position he has been accustomed to. Showed on debut in the 1st semi against Claremont he belongs at the level.

I think a few players stepped up when they got their opportunities as injuries hit. Jack Evans and Zac Fleiner and Daniel Hill really stepped up against EF in that elimination final and was a blow that he was a late out against Claremont.

I must admit that Roberts impressed me on debut.

Before he copped a long term injury(cheekbone?),he was a key part of the Ressies’ good early season form,in the backline.

Nothing much was revealed, I was hoping for Jacob to ask about Derksen and Chaplin. I wanted to hear what Doddy had to say about them.

Great interview as usual from Brad.
Dean already having an impact at the Club.
Also interesting, not sure I knew of it.
But Mark Seaby is our Ruck coach.

Am i seeing things?
Or has Zac Derksen moved to number 6?

Old news that happened a couple of weeks ago.

Derksen off the list now so he officially a loss.

With losing Derksen and not getting Chaplain I’m not sure we’ve improved our list.
Kirk and Gardiner might cover our midfield loses but neither are proven.
Dean should improve our back line and if Johnston stays fit that will help, too. Schlesog might be able to go forward and that will help Clark.
Depth will be an issue. Lose a top liner and it will hurt. Though we should be good for rucks, adding Harding and Jesse G-M. Hopefully one of these two could hold down a key position at a pinch. Doubt we can play those two plus Jacques and Edwards.

I don’t see it that way i actually think we’ve improved even with the loss of Derksen, recruiting Charlie Dean and Zac Harding gives us plenty of options, Harding can play either end of the ground and Shenslog can do similar Dean has made our backline stronger, and Kirk , Gardiner and Brayshaw makes our already strong midfield even stronger i’ll be disappointed if we don’t finish top three.

I disagree PD, Zack Harding is an excellent addition. At 198cm at a young age and touted as a ruckman that can also play KPP, forward or back. Having seen some highlights I am more than happy.
I think we are vastly improved and I am expecting top 3 finish.
Wouldn’t it be fantastic to fill Optus Stadium with red & black on GF day.

Unless the AFL swings a potential Freo Home Preliminary right into Saturday,September.

Same day as the WAFL Grand Final. The AFL TELLS the Football Commission,“Move your Grand Final to another day!”

Has the Football Commission laid claim to Perth Stadium on Sunday,September 21st?

I don’t recall ANYONE at that Esteemed HQ making any such statement,so it’s possible we end up at Leederville,Sunday Night,7.30 - Prime Time for 7.

It’s P*ssing down and only the stands are full,…crowd 2 500,…

Who did you lose from your midfield?? Kirk won a VFL B&F and was on Sydney’s list- he wouldn’t be here to play Reserves.

EF have lost our top 3 goalkickers- wish we had replaced them with a player like Harding. I don’t recall Derksen (or Chaplain) playing in the Elimination final and you still kicked 100 points

We’ve lost Regan Clarke. Taking a year off. I rated him very highly. Scratch matches should reveal a bit more. What’s happening with Brynn Teakle? Been delisted by a couple of AFL clubs would be a dominant ruckman in the WAFL again. Surprised $ubi haven’t thrown the cheque book at him.

He signed with Collingwood VFL i believe
