4th Test Melbourne

Archer out of the rest of the series with a side strain. He was certainly the most threatening of the English bowlers and this reduces their chances of winning one of the last two tests. Atkinson and Bethell in for Archer and Pope. Bethell is a part time spinner so gives them another bowling option.
Not sure when the Aussie team is announced. Guess they will make a final assessment of the pitch prior to naming the XI

Looks like Duckett was spared due to there being nobody else
Melbourne isn’t an overly quick pitch but does offer things for seamers
apparently this one is no different either
probably why Australia is leaving it until the last moment

Whoever each Team picks,I’m picking a near Dead Wicket to occur,to try and enable a 5 Day Test,at least.

Bethell averages just 28 in first class cricket :man_shrugging:

Sounds like Green will be dropped. Likely Webster comes in. Webster, Richardson and Murphy in for Green, Cummins and Lyon. Starc a possibility to have a rest too I reckon.

Who makes way for Smith, Khawaja or Inglis?

Inglis out for Smith, no Murphy or Webster, Green slips to No 7 in the batting order after Carey. Going all out pace Richo in the mix to be confirmed after they inspect the wicket tomorrow morning.

Green
geez talk about rewarding mediocrity
Starc has been better with the bat all series

Mediocrity lol he’s out of form atm but he’s our best talent we’ve had in this country for years and i back him to come good , why would you pick Webster he’s been battling to hit it off the square in Shield cricket and is 35 years of age fuck me we’re only playing the poms if there’s one player we can carry it’s a generational player in all forms of cricket.

Green needs to bat up the order as close to 4 as possible, not down the order.

Green is batting 7 in this game which means in the last 12 months he has batted everywhere from 3 to 7. Not great for his batting I wouldn’t have thought

Just wondering if anyone got the Key Stat before this Test of Dropped Catches?

I’m sure it’s played its part,if England have dropped a pile of Catches, whilst Australia has grassed one or 2.

Heck of a difference though,in where The Ashes remain,….

Seen enough of Weatherald.
Next opener…

Not until you know who Retires,….

Shot of Mick(Molloy)sitting’ by his lonesome.

“I sit alone!Yeeeeaahh,with nobody else,..”

With Apologies to George(Thoroughgood).

One thing for sure, if Richie was still around, he’d be going spare about the poor Over Rate.

Green you can add incredibly dumb to being completely out of form.
In no form of cricket was there a run there let alone in a Test when you are 6 for FA!

Will be over quicker than the Perth test. LMFAO

What do you think of this pitch Usman?

Well, I’ll have plenty of sight seeing to do, if it doesn’t get the day three. :upside_down_face:

Local Hero Scott takes a few, gets dropped, then gets off The Dreaded Pair with a 4 off the last ball of the day.

Crazy Day.

Another interesting day of “test” cricket.
Did we see the real Pommie test bowling line up. Or was it a case of, Ashes lost, nice cool day, feeling all cuddly in our three Lions white jumpers! Time to perform and bend our backs. No more nasty nasty hot. No stinking how weather, where we have to sweat and get all tired. Feel yukky and stinky sticky.
Hopefully it might be 37 c tomorrow.
Very disappointing batting from both teams.
