Got absolutely pantsed by the last placed Cairns Taipans who were 0 and 3. Must rank as the worst loss in Trevor Gleesons time. Is this the year the finals bubble bursts? Got to happen eventually. I don’t think they’ve added enough talent, relying too much on Terrico White and Bryce Cotton.
Their record would demonstrate that they clearly have the right culture at the club, but perhaps they don’t train hard enough, and long enough, to rise above the ordinary pack. :whistle:
The Wildcats lost their way in the second half of the match, scoring 16 points in the 3rd period and another 16 in the final term. And going down by 23. Apparently their biggest losing margin at Home for many years. Do agree with the depth, or lack of. It seems if Cotton can be contained by the opposition, Perth seem to struggle.
Good job by Cairns who were not expected to win this match. Cairns lost the opening match of the season by 8 or 9 points, then easily beaten by Brisbane, and going down by the 1 point last week against Illawarra. Cairns obviously turned the corner after losing the first 3 matches.
I am going to go the early crow and tip that this is the season the Wildcats 33 year long Finals streak will finish.
They have looked a bit old and tired for mine in their first 3 games, Brandt has been a big loss, whilst most of the other teams have improved their roster markedly in comparison.
