It was great catching up with the under the grandstand boys at our annual Falcons Christmas lunch at the Bayswater hotel. Tucker was good and a good selection of beers. Thanks to Brett Raponi and Dean Munns for attending. Brett and Dean spared their time to have a beer and a bite with a bunch of W.P members that pool their money to sponsor two W.P players. The club has paid off its loan and now we are debt free. The club made a 58k profit and has 500k in the bank. New seating will be fitted in the main grandstand, red and blue rows. The new digital scoreboard 10m x 6m will be erected in February and during game day will be manned by computer geek uni students to drive the thing. Replays / advertising / highlights from other games etc. A studio control centre will be built in the stand for the students to run the scoreboard. The covered terrace seating on the scoreboard side will be built during the season. A rock concert will be held at the end of February that will add to the coffers. Neil Fong / Luke Meadows / Brian Pleitner were awarded life membership. Pegoraro will be playing for Mildura and return to the club in June 2025.
Thanks for that Winger. As usual you are a mine of information and it’s good to see things are progressing. The interesting thing for mine is the recruitment of Page and Gilbee.Depth players for mine and I don’t think either of them set the world on fire last season. This is Page’s third club and although I saw him play some serviceable games for Subi in 2023 I think with both him and Gilbee we have good youngsters to cover what both of them can bring to the table.Seems like Gilbee’s babysitter duties for Harley Reid are no longer needed! Anyway hope they put in and become good players for us.

Well, when you consider that the 250k 2018 WAFC loan has been fully repaid,as well as the club apparently managing to accrue 500k in the bank since the 4 cents in the dollar creditors deal was cut,one would have to say this is the best comeback since Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead.

Christ Winger right in the heart of enemy territory, The Baysie. No wonder no one in your zone will support you, you could have gone to anyone of a dozen pubs in the Joondy and surrounding areas.

Would club veterans Black and Nelson know where the Baysie was if they were invited to the annual catch up???I reckon another good alternative venue for a couple of the grandstand screechers would’ve been the Court Hotel.

What I heard RL, and you’ll love this one mate. You know how the rainbow clan love to play YMCA? Well they are going play a montage of Trump doing the Trump dance on the new electronic scoreboard and I can share a dozen or so Tiktok videos of hot chicks and NFL players doing the Trump jiggy.
It’s gone viral mate, are you onboard? ???
Just came back from the end of year training season, BBQ provided by the past players association with free beers, soft drink & water provided. There probably were 150 sponsors / supporters there. The last half hour was a combination of all the male & female squads playing football / cricket games and generally having fun. Had a chat with Roan Steele / Blake Waight and few of the regular boys. West is definitely playing on; McKenzie is in Perth the end of February. Also had a chat with GT Falcon, this bloke is highly professional, AFL standard and he has a very strong platform, not just fitness but other strategies to make a player so much better. He is highly respected in the VFL and the club is very lucky to get him. Anyway, it was really good to see the supporters / sponsors come out to support the boys.
Some great info there boys. Even though I’m SF, it’s great to hear other club happenings and developments.
Scoreboard sounds flash. Seating undercover in the outer? But how do you have half a mill $$$ in the bank and be debt free in 6 yrs and make a profit of 50K this year?
I mean awesome job, but that’s a massive financial comeback.
Mafia back in charge.

Dogman, I don’t know the goings on off the field with our finances, I know th match day set up is very good with food, multiple bars for the piss heads and our team store is the best in the comp, always busy and well manned at all times. One big area where we save money is we have had minimal Ex AFL or outside players over recent years, played local kids and have been successful until the last 2 seasons.
McKenzie has arrived at the club and is in full training.
Good news on that front but a while ago the Worst mentioned that Grif Julian was going to the VFL.Is that true Winger ?
Cant recall where he’s gone but he did have two shoulder re-cons after season 2024. He told me that he would of missed most of 2025. Good player, hope he mends well and returns.
I heard Julian going to Ammos with his mates for the season. As Winger mentioned, he would miss the majority of 2025 due to his double recon, he will be back in 26.
Pity about his shoulders. He was just beginning to show how good he was early last season when he got injured so hopefully he comes back fully fit and raring to go in 26.Is Callum Smith still around? He showed a fair bit towards the end of last season and would be useful up back maybe to release one of the Rotham’s for another role.
I think Smith is still in the squad, I haven’t heard him moving on. We will have the best backline in the comp. Both Rothams, Guadagnin, Moulten, Johnson, Skender and the captain Munns with the specialist CHB from Tasmania. That is an awesome backline.
Agree mate and hopefully if we have a better run with injuries this year our depth in the backline will certainly be there. If Smith becomes a regular defender ( and Skender will be getting better physically and with experience as well) it means one of the Rotham’s could become the second big forward who pinch hits in the ruck. Not the ideal situation but it’s the role Pegs did well for us last season. He obviously won’t be there for the first part of the year so we need to develop someone in that role like a Robis,Foley or maybe the new kid McKenzie although he’s not that experienced.Scaife and Gerryn would have been handy but those options are gone.I think we will be relying on our smaller players for a few goals as well but there’s certainly a lot to look forward to.
Looks like another one gone in Scott Nelson
We need to hope our defence stays healthy and our forward line continues or improves on last years return. I think our mids will have a day out from time to time but at best we will draw even, with West gone, Pierce back and an unknown in Steele, we will be similar to last season in that dept.
Expect Kane Bevan to relish more ground time for you guys this season. Would have averaged 20 disposals a game starting on the bench as an inside mid. Surprised he’s been overlooked by AFL clubs as he has all the attributes to succeed at the next level.
Pierce, 2 x Rotham’s returning plus a number of recruits puts you in a good spot.
You look to have a significant increase in depth with a number of your young brigade exposed to league footy last year probably a year or two ahead of time. That’ll pay dividends for the next 10 years.
Lots to look forward to for the WP faithful.
