Well done Old Easts

9 North Melbourne listed players, and East Freo kept them down to 2 goals all game. Good effort in the conditions.

I could not believe the amount of rain that fell at Subi Oval tonight ..we didnt even get a tenth of that rain in the Northern Suburbs!
Freeze will be beside himself Howson finally got a game as did Troppo but no Tyler to really send him into ecstacy!! :silly:

Outstanding effort by the Sharks. They got the goals early when the conditions were OK and were a lot more desperate and structured when it turned into water polo in the 2nd half. Now lets hope the Tigers win in Adelaide next week and along with the win over the big V, that will top off a wonderful season for the WAFL

It was an excellent strong start by East Freo IMO. I have thought both of the VFL sides in the comp have been a bit flat, and I thought Norwood would have done better than they did a month or two back.

Werribee’s thrashing on Queanbeyan made them look good, but really it was a mismatch as Queanbeyan were never going to be competitive with so many injuries.

I know Claremont had to work at keeping Southport at bay, however I do like the NEAFL northern conferences style of play which is similar to the WAFL, but I think Claremont should keep West Adelaide down who are 3rd on the SANFL ladder.

The big question is, if it is East Freo v Claremont at Subi, will the crowd turn up?

That indeed is the question? I have not heard any attendance figures for any of the Foxtel Cup matches. I’ve heard no mention of East Fremantle’s win last night by any of the media. Not unless I’ve missed the reports? Has any-one else heard any mainstream news reports or match reviews. I would say no to your question. But really, really hoping I’m wrong.

Wednesday’s West put in a report on the game and a photo of McGough doing a swan dive through a massive puddle of water with his shirt off.

No crowd figures as all Foxtel Cup games are free entry…mind you could hear the Shark faithful in the crowd cheering quite clearly. Well done to those that were there!!!

Wouldn’t think many would turn up to Pattersons for the GF (if Claremont get in that is) as the game will still be on a Tuesday night.

All understood TR. I normally don’t read the Worst Australian and would have missed it. Was it a large article or did one need a magnifying glass to see it? Always listen to the radio news in the vehicle when travelling home but the cupboard was bare. Heard no radio news about it on Wednesday either and wondering why? Not sure if the result was mentioned on the tv news because am unable to watch the tv news every evening. But a great result for East Fremantle and their fans, for sure. They’ve really embraced the Foxtel Cup format.

It was a reasonable size in the West…I was pleasantly surprised TBH.

Channel 10 apparently showed some highlights. I only heard the ABC news and they mentioned the scores.
