WA horses braining them in the East

Arcadia Queen blitzed them in the Theo Marks Sakes over 1300. They are drooling over her over there but the other WA horse has stolen the show. Gatting was $139 on the tote in the Makybe Diva Stakes over 1600 and sat outside another WA horse Scales of Justice in the straight with favourite Mystic Journey looming but Gatting pulled away to win and leave Flemington in shock. Maybe the glory days are returning to WA racing since riding the great wave with the great Northerly.

Another WA prospect DD is Enticing Star who like Arcadia Queen is being set for the $14 million The Everest race (1200m) run at Randwick on October 19.

Yes I think she’s running next week BH so look out for that one. And Gatting is entered for the Underwood Stakes next up I think on the way to the Cox Plate. He’s a real pocket rocket Gatting, not a big horse but all guts and determination.

leave out Material Man who had 25 local starts for 14 wins & 7 placings..
Went to Melbourne & hasn’t got warm in 6 starts..

Material Man has done bugger all in Melbourne yet it consistently had the wood on Gatting in Perth, which leaves this as one of the most baffling group 1 results i have ever seen.

Lys Gracieux not from wa but will win cox plate.

You might be right STT with Gattings group 1 win casting doubts on the australian formline but its hard to jump in Lys Gracieux $6 odds now after the smarties jumped in on the 30s

If there is one thing I’ve learned it is there is no shame in taking unders about a winner. The number of times I’ve tried to beat a plunge horse I liked when I missed top fluc, omg.

Enticing Star was not.. Just caught 2nd last horse on the line & started short price favorite. Had it in Supercoach horse racing..

Yep huge flop.

Massive flop and no hope for the Everest on that run. I wonder if there has been an issue detected on the horse after that failure?

Pushin’ Shapes couldn’t get warm in last 8 local starts but bobs up today with Oliver on board.. $81 win.. Didn’t give it a chance & backed the 2nd horse EW.. (last win at Northam)

And now another old West Aussie in the evergreen Black Heart Bart gets up at huge odds in the Underwood Stakes.

Ive always been a big Black heart Bart fan but 30 months since its last win and coming back from retirement as a 9 year old never figured as one of Homesmans dangers in my learned assessment.

Huuuge. I wonder if this along with Gatting, Arcadia Queen and Scales of Justice winning efforts might spark a surge of interest in trainers, owners and jockeys wanting to bring their horses here for the Ascot Summer Carnival? Nothing wrong with the prize money here. Maybe they can even dangle a bigger carrot and add a bit to the kitty.

Another WA horse Pushin Shapes won race 3 at Caulfield at $61 ridden by D. Oliver. WA horses cleaning up.

Another 3 WA horses headed off to Melbourne overnight for a raid on the Spring Carnival.

A couple of decent races on at Moonee Valley this weekend with a couple of WA horses running in the Manikato Stakes tonight (Rock Magic & Vital Silver) plus the time honoured Cox Plate is on tomorrow (Black Heart Bart), it would be nice to see the old boy Bart run a good race in what is often considered the best race on the gallops calendar.

Hope the punters among us got some.
Ps get on subi for 2020 prem

No more horses winning but Damien Lane deserves a mention..Has the Caulfield Cup & Cox plate this year & no jockey has ever won the Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate & Melbourne cup in the same year..
Rising Fast won the three but Arthur Ward & Jack Purtell aboard..Damien has the chance..

West Aussie (Bunbury boy) jockey Damian Lane also won the Golden Slipper on 33/1 chance Kiamichi this year LS and he could become the first jockey in history to win the Big 4 (Golden Slipper, Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate & Melbourne Cup) all in the same year if he can win the Melbourne Cup this year!
