WA first game of new season

Good to see nothing has changed for WA. Yes i know a few are missing but really 5 for 87 inside 18 overs, looks like they have done no batting practice all winter.

Could be a long summer for WA supporters

I have to agree mate.
I do like the fact we have a youthful side though.
Fanning and Curtis are young, add in Malajczuk, Esterhuysen and Beardman and its going to set up the future for WA cricket. I don’t know much about Elliott, just that he come across from Tassie.
Goodwin waiting in the wins as well.

We scraped together 238

92 of those have come from recent interstate recruits

and ceding some runs quickly to the Croweaters now

I guess Ponting will be back on that Jake “get him in the test team now” train. WA once again with so many starts in the top 6 .

WA got away with a no result thanks to the rain

Won’t be so lucky next time me thinks.

What a comeback from the Bushrangers v Qld…4/14 chasing 300+…outstanding effort by the skipper and debutant keeper with their tons…Marnus bowling the last over… what was the skipper for Qld thinking?..oh yeah…it was Marnus…lol

Marnus’s mind no doubt on his important mission coming up in South Africa Freeze…as tour guide and Afrikaans interpreter!

Gonna be a long long season going off today’s batting effort…de je vu sadly…

115! Shocking effort

Yet another poor season coming up.

Who is the batting coach down there?

This is what should have been happening 3 years ago

players like bancroft and whiteman should seen the trash basket then

unfortunately several wilderness years await us before good experience kicks in

or… it shows why they weren’t moved on because the talent coming through wasn’t up to standard

So if the talent is so sparse why did they not make more of an effort to keep Teague Wylie?

Spot on Mike, it was a ludicrous decision to let him go to Tassie!

Well he was only averaging 20 odd…so I can see why he was moved on…but I did think with more opportunities, he could of improved that average…be interesting to see how he goes in Tassie. Folk like Wasley, Budge, even Hoogenboezem (now at SA) haven’t knocked any doors down TBH…be interesting to see if Fanning and Goodwin can step up in the red ball format…be stuffed if they don’t.. ..I think Hollick and Malajcuk are a few years off…got plenty of bowling potential…if they can stay fit and progress.

Fanning is no good

no one is scoring runs in club cricket - the cupboard looks very bare
