I thought the Eagles were very, very ordinary last week against the Crows. They’ll want to find a whole new level against the Tigers or they’ll get their pants pulled down. I’ll be there to egg them on, hope I don’t get spat on again. Too old to handle that now:(
Could be a ripper this game, probably the two most entertaining sides in the league.Worth the price of admission just to see Barass and The Guv versus Riewoldt and Lynch, not to mention a possible match up of two big dogs going head to head in Yeo v Dusty.
So the rumour I heard is true - you are a member of the Eagles cheer squad.
Yep, that’s right jack. I’m the one that’s losing the battle to keep my hair and have more wrinkles than a Shar Pei!!!
What a game, what an atmosphere. Losing Hutch and letting Martin do what he wanted hurt. We lost the battle, but haven’t lost the war. A draw would have been a befitting result.
Watching a Tigers supporter personally abusing an Eagles supporter made me realize how a fight could start at a footy game.
Titanic battle, that’s the two sides I want in the grand final.
Looks like oppositions are starting to work out the Eagles backline in particular Jeremy McGovern. I wonder if Simpson will pick Vardy and go with two ruckmen? Worked for them last year during season and finals. Is Vardy available or injured? He could be a key.

1st quarter when conditions were dry the backline imo did a great job and it was only when the conditions turned wet that the intercept marking power of the Eagles was curtailed.
I’d be very surprised if Vardy came into the team at this point, reckon Nic if he’s fit comes in otherwise they’ll go with Hickey and Allen.
Duggan And Nic if fitwill come in for the finals and probably Masten for Hutchings.

Too true, Eagles don’t like getting their feathers wet. Still, I though the delivery into the forwards, esp JK and Darling was poor. I saw several times where they were holding good position as the ball was coming in, only to have it delivered too low or over their heads. It was a cold miserable afternoon for footy.
I don’t think I’ve seen the Eagles backline and I’m talking the senior players like Hurn, McGovern and Shepherd look so fumbly and unsure of themselves Barrass’s brain fade late in the game. PA employed a great tactic earlier in the season that worked a treat just mongreling the ball in low.

Yep, they were as fumbling like it was a pre season match. Hardwick said he knew WC would kill them in the air, so he wanted to keep the game on the ground. A blueprint for other teams now.
