Top 20 TV Shows/Series

Just watching/listening to a few old Catweazle Episodes from Series 1,plus a small doco with Geoffrey Bayldon,Robin Davies and Richard Carpenter.

The Telling Bone should be a good 'un.Imagine Catweazle with that,jf he fled the Normans in 1066 and arrived in 2026,instead of 1966,…Try 1969.

Recent Favourites -

Rake
New Tricks

I’ve mentioned most of these before but I love a good binge watch when I find a tv series I’m into.

Elementary (US version of Sherlock Holmes Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu as female Joan Watson) absolutely brilliant.
Mayor of Kingstown (waiting for series 5 to be made and will be the final one) Jeremy Renner.
Homeland - brilliant
Lioness - apart from Kidman being in it.
Dexter - just finished binge watching it.
Oz
Deadwood - bit like Faulty Towers finished way sooner than it should have. Unbelievable cast my favourite was Powers Booth (Cy Toliver - ruthless pub/whore house and craps table runner)
Last King of the Cross - brilliant

All of these on Paramount+ apart from Homeland. Elementary just landed on Paramount+.

Law and Order SVU
Suits
The Curse of Von Dutch (doco)
The Night Manager
All on Prime

Sicario

A few more I can’t think of right now.

Blimey.

I’d be lucky to keep up with one of 'em.

Just for a laugh,…..

Kenny Everett Video Show and Kenny Everett Video Cassette.

Sid Snot,Angry of Mayfair,Marcelle,Captain Kremen,Hot Gossip,Brother Lee Love,….

The Brits had some classics….some already mentioned….but used to enjoy watching Man about the House, Porridge and Love Thy Neighbour’s as a kid on the ABC…..the one I used to hate was Upstairs Downstairs and The Onedin Line…..always on at the same time as Happy Days on a Sinday night ….Mum got viewing rights back then….so no Fonzie for me back then….until the 2nd TV entered the house hold

Never really watched the Onedin Line.

But I could hear that familiar tune through the bedroom door when doing last minute Homework on Sunday Night.

Have actually watched it later in life…..it’s not a bad watch……though the special f x are interesting…..Man About the House was a good watch…..always felt envious of Robin living with those two ladies

…..and George up to all manner of mischief nearby.

Chrissy & Jo wasnt it Freeze and yes they were a couple of good sorts.

Always loved the British comedies back then, the ones you named above plus George & Mildred, On The Buses, Fawlty Towers, Open All Hours, Are You Being Served, Mind Your Language, Til Death Us Do Part, Bless This House, Goodies, Kenny Everett, Benny Hill, Robins Nest, Some Mothers Do Ave Em, Please Sir, Only Fools And Horses, The Young Ones, Blackadder, In Sickness And In Health, The Two Ronnies, Dave Allen At Large etc etc.

One of the more recent ones Not Going Out is another ripper.

Saw Dave Allen at the Perth Concert Hall in the mid 80’s. Was a bit disappointed as I was expecting him to be sitting in his chair with his whiskey and a ciggy and was expecting to see some skits on a big screen. He was standing up the whole time.

Perhaps he was on a health kick by then. Another great British tv series which has been reborn in a modern series which I haven’t bothered to watch is All Creatures Great and Small.

Obviously not the same as the 70’s version with Robert Hardy,Christopher Timothy,Peter Davidson and Carol Drinkwater, but worth the odd watch.

British comedies the best for mine, Fawlty Tower, Some Mothers Do Have Em, Porridge, Two Ronnies, Are You Being Served, Benny Hill, Aint Alf Hot Mum, Till Death Do Us Part, Love Thy Neighbour, Dads Army, Open all hours, The Good Life, Yes Minister, To The Manor Born, ..could go on and on…

Dave Allen a good laugh made jokes about Catholic and Protestants a like…liked Father Ted as well, Catholics tend to laugh at these shows more than anyone…

Loved on The Buses…and Mind Your Language…

George and Mildred hilarious…

Sad most of the casts all gone now

Some absolute classics getting called out here, some folk have fantastic memories…..there must of been a lot us glued to the TV back then…..in between watching the WAFL and playing footy and cricket as well….life was far simpler back then.

Most were Monday to Friday thank heavens!

Add The Goodies to the list,or another tick for that Classic.

What was the show with the punks in it called? Another classic, oh The Young Ones was it?

Another more recent one Ali G. His interview with Posh and Becks is a classic.

With Adrian Edmondson playing Vyvyan B*stard MD,…yeah,The Young Ones.
