Hi All,
Seems the Foxtel cup for 2013 has cut out 3 teams. So basically, it is based on the two teams from the grand finals in the WAFL, SANFL and VFL.
Its not based on where the team finished on the ladder. I know the East Freo boys will be cheering!

i think that is fair enough to just have the two GF teams from each comp. i will be keenly watching the Sharks this year :cheer:

Put it this way, I don’t think that Swan Districts are all that worried about it.

Swans won’t have a strong enough team (again).
Dark horse is the Queanbeyan Tigers. So far they have only bolstered their premiership side.
I’ll be up at Dairy Farmers running around the paddock come this Sunday morning myself, so I’ll quiz some of the others about how serious the boys will be.
They didn’t take their game against Brisbane Lions to seriously .. hand stands and cart wheels during the game.

Nothing much to report on the Tigers, except $10 chicken schnitzel and vegies for $10 Sunday Lunch, and $3 Schooners Monday - its all as normal.

Agree George, its just a distraction for clubs like us who dont have the embarrassment of depth that a Claremont or East Freo have due to their juicy zones, im glad we arent in the who cares cup! Means sweet FA

$100K to the winner isn’t SFA.
Talking about juicy zones. Check how healthy SD zone is. You may be surprised.

What about up north? Isn’t the Pilbara etc in your zone?
it would be good to see the WAFC release each year the amount of 15-17 year olds in each zone playing local footy, this is the biggest drop off area in all sports and going by last year quite a few colts teams had a lot of 16 and 17 year olds in them which would impact on community footy..

Mark,
Someone did once upon a time tell what happens with your 17’s comp but for the life of me cannot remember. What is the deal there…if you know?
are you able to clarify what you are asking ?

You have a 15’s and 16’s comp but no teams listed in the 17’s comp.

Just found your development council page on sporting pulse which shows you have year 10’s and year 12’s.
The last WAFL zone review only listed 15’s & 16’s so I thought there was no 17’s (year 12’s).
that’s the problem with people making comments or decisions on old information..
Swans have no year 11’s and have 9 year 12 teams
East Freo have 8 16’s and 7 17’s teams..

juicy zones…do we have to go through this all over again???
every WAFL club bar Claremont would swap for East Freo’s metro zone in a heartbeat..
