Perth vs Swannies

Ted, a win will not secure third spot. The percentages are so close that either EP or SF could take third if we only have a narrow win over West Perth and one or both of them have a bigger win.

If we play to our Proper Capacity,We’ll DO what we’re meant to do and BLOW lesser teams away. And that includes next week!

West Perth can have a party if they want. We’ll settle for a SOLID WIN for PROGRESS into 3rd.

C’mon Boys,Let’s get NASTY!

Great Work by the Ressies boys who worked their Backsides off for a Well Deserved 4 points and a chance themselves for a Tilt at 3rd and the Double Chance.

Colts a bit stiff in a pretty good game. They had their chances, but couldn’t clinch the Winning Goal unfortunately.I won’t say much else,…

Fair point, Cess. We have a reasonable gap over SF - if we won by, say, a goal, SF would have to win by about 9 goals, give or take. Much tighter v EP - if we won by a goal, as little as a two goal win to EP could put them ahead. At least finishing 4th would give us a home final. But all the more reason why it is disappointing that we couldn’t build on our first quarter to get a win by 6-8 goals.

Ted, 4th doesn’t give us a double chsnce 3rd does.

Any of you watch the reserves? JGM made a big statement. Time for Stone to show a bit of faith in him and pick him as the third tall up forward and can ruck. Cool head showing great leadership in the reserves. Gave off a goal instead of being selfish like a couple of others trying to cover themselves in glory.

Dale Sutherland is all class but I think only first game back from a long layoff but one I would take a punt on.

Excellent return by Scoble. Obviously Sing comes in if fit. I thought JPC played well as did Gardiner. Probably Freddy, Fleiner and Moore under the pump. Kluske needs to do more.

I actually thought it was Gardiner’s best game for us. He and Freddy put on great pressure. Freddy in particular is a very good tackler.

Fleiner took a fantastic mark at one stage then immediately kicked it out of bounds. Things like this and Edwards (kicking a magnificent goal one minute then gifting Swans one back 5 minutes later) would be nice to eradicate.

Our third quarter and the first 10 of the last was bloody awful.

Charlie C looks to be limping and Scobes spent a long time on the bike. Anyone know what the go is with Sing?

I haven’t looked at the stats yet, nor remember best named, nor watched the replay - that I am about to do - but agree that Kluske has to do more.

Big big crowd up in the bar after. Lots of ex players and a fair few Swan supporters too. Get up after a game if you can.

Sydney or the Bush next week.

Going back to the Club might be difficult.unless it opens up after potentially 3 Road Games in a row.

And even next week, some of us will be still at Arena, with the Colts playing at 6.

Even if we Won yesterday, unfortunately it would have been a Dead Rubber,as we can’t catch West Perth on Percentage.

Oh Yeah.

Anyone have a good yell and scream at Numbef 24 from Swans?!

Gee,I wonder who that could be?

Apparently,he got the ball a bit more than usual yesterday, but you wouldn’t know it,when he’s scraggin’ a Gun Player of our’s!

Should give a shout out to Austin Davis who was outstanding yesterday. Too often this year we have struggled if Parf and Constable don’t get big numbers (they each got under 20 yesterday, which is rare, though Parf’s touches were influential and Charlie had a leg injury - hopefully minor), but Davis and Byrne stepped up to give us enough midfield drive to get us over the line. For some reason, tagging doesn’t seem to be part of our game plan. I would like to see us try it - Cipro and Turner ran riot yesterday. Cachard isn’t getting a lot of the ball - why not use him or Tilbee as a tagger? But apart from Henderson years back and Brodie Gray from time to time, we don’t seem to use anyone in that role.

Replay has frozen with 10 minutes to go. But from what I have seen this morning I reckon Brayshaw, and Gairdner definitely hold their spots.

I also somewhat take back my comment that our 3rd quarter was terrible. The intensity from both teams was outstanding and hopefully holds us in good stead going into next week.

Aussie very good yesterday but could work on his contested game. Paton missed two he would normally get.

Johnston way down on usual - his worst game since round two.

Hine Baston not named in our top six yesterday but certainly in our top 7

Davis was unbelievable yesterday probably the best game I’ve ever seen from him or as long as I can remember. Usually even in his good ones there will be a couple of clangers but I can’t recall one. Outstanding game Aussie.

Yes agreed Oscar Hine-Baston outstanding again has become one of our most consistent players now you can rely on week in week out. Him and Baxter Philip would be among the best intercept and rebound defenders in the WAFL in my opinion.

Edwards outstanding apart from that howler undoing his earlier brilliant snap but then made up for it again in the last qtr.

Charlie Constable is a concern limping badly. Unfortunately not an unusual sight to see chooka hobbling. A good return to form by Clarke and Byrne but Glass-McCasker has to come in next week. You knockers can go to hell.

Didn’t Charlie go back on the field afterwards?

Yes on one leg.

Stick him the forward pocket.

He’ll probably kick a few 6 pointers on one leg.

In terms of finishing 3rd, Perth are about 0.7% in front of East Perth and over 3% in front of South. All you guys need to do is play 4 quarters of hard footy and beat West Perth by as big a margin as possible and there is no way that anyone can catch you

Good luck!

Well, the boys and the Coaching Staff know what they need to do,allowing for the Mega Emotion that will come from West Perth.

And of course,we have our own Milestone Man Corey Byrne, just itching to get the footy for starters.

Could be on for young and old in the 2 Senior Games and still a keenly contested Colts Game.

I hope every official of the club listened to WAFL World tonight. No mention whatsoever of Perth when discussing finals. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think Perth was out of the finals race. I’m really looking forward to Perth quietly slipping through their radar and taking these guys by surprise.

Yep Mate. Was hoping a few Dees would notice that,Coaches and Players included.

Already got the Ball Rolling started the Game Thread for Saturday.

Thanks you’ve saved me the trouble of wasting an hour I won’t get back. Those two flogs are Perth haters and well supported by the host.

Was waiting for that.
