Perth vs EP ANZAC Day

14 games to go and you’re giving up already?

Disappointing result, although I must say I did have a bad feeling about it.

But came up for it anyway.

We have not played well for the last 3 weeks. Battling to get a clearance out of the middle, so definitely need to find a hard nut clearance specialist.

Our delivery into the forward 50 is deplorable, just bombing it in high and not to advantage. We are panicking when put under pressure. Dropped marks and poor goal kicking, even from ever reliable Clarke.

Not to panic yet but we must snap back into form, cannot afford to lose to EF next week.

Some heads to be on the block.

I must say I have not seen Gardiner do anything over the first four games. Wasn’t he talked about glowingly before the season.

I was happy with Tilbee’s debut.

Give Jack Evans another week but must improve soon.

No big numbers in the Ressies.

I spoke to Paton after the game and he seemed to indicate that he would not be back next week.

Decent crowd and atmosphere

Next week looms as a must win.

East Fremantle Away next week.

The team Must Sit down and not out how to cut out the errors they’ll identify for Saturday.

I don’t want to single out individual players, but please don’t checkside your kicks close to goal on the run. That happens all too often in footy, not just our way by the way.

Up to Stoney to advise ALL PLAYERS on the basics on shooting for Goal,(amongst other aspects of the game just past)including Drop Punts straight over the Goal Umpire’s Head and NO Grubber Kicks!

WE MUST LIFT OUR INTENSITY,especially this week for starters.Focus on this week alone.Worry about the following opponents next week and we ALL know who that will be.

This Saturday,we face a WOUNDED ANIMAL in ALL 3 Games when you think about it and ALL 3 SHARKS TEAMS WILL DESPERATELY DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO NOTCH UP 3 WINS AT OUR EXPENSE!

SO LIFT YOUR INTENSITY BOYS AND HEAD OFF THEIR CHALLENGE!

Congratulations to the club for the outstanding pre-game ceremony. It was short and concise. The substantial crowd was extremely respectful during the minute’s silence. The only sound I heard was, appropriately, a lone magpie in the distance. And wow the girl who performed the National Anthem unaccompanied was amazing. It was all a credit to the organisers.

The magpie was quintessential - loved it.

…and it’s not even nesting season.

The lady who played the Last Post and Reveille on the Bugle was outstanding as well.

She Most Certainly Was!

Mate if Perth beat EF last time they met by 6 goals, and you have added Dean, Kirk and Kluske to that side…..whilst EF have lost Murdock, Zadow and Hagan to their side…..you guys will be be up by 6 goals by quarter time…..

We’ve been Favourites before heading down to Moss St,only to come a MIGHTY CROPPER.

For example,Some fella called Billy Jones got in the way in Round 5,1983.

Billy Jones was a legend…..loved watching him run down the membership side wing…retired way too soon sadly

If it wasn’t him,it was Wayne Roser,

Roser was 90’s…..Billy J 80’s mate….Billy played under big Ron…..Roser under Judgey and a few others.

I still had the same Nightmare.

Roser heading down the Merv Cowan Grandstand Pocket and Flank, time after time.

Mate I still have childhood nightmares of Perth’s record 77 GF win v EF…..we all have our personal demons to deal with…..sadly mine involves 20 of the buggers!

Unlike '74,you got past us twice AT Lathlain that Year.

It wasn’t all bad for yers!

Speaking of past memories,I’m just getting a fill of Outright Sporting Violence in the 76/77 NFL Season, between the Steelers and Raiders.

Well,it was the 70’s.Couldn’t do what George,Jack,Mel and Jack did now.
