Can we just stop whinging about Claremont’s facilities, zones, toilets etc and concentrate on supporting the boys tomorrow. The only thing that matters is the final score, nothing else. It has the prospect of being a great game of footy.
Article in The West quotes Stone admitting there is a risk in playing Schlensog. I think we need to play him as an old fashioned forward, inside the 50 arc, to minimise his running. No pressing up to the centre and sprinting back and no rucking. It’s a shame because some of the games he played in the ruck last year were outstanding. But we can’t afford to have him break down half way through the first quarter and play a man down.
Disappointing but competitive. Too many skill errors and forward entries were haphazard. I thought we outplayed C in the third quarter, but couldn’t convert and wound up losing the quarter, which ultimately cost us the game. I would hope Schlensog was rested in the last rather than re-injured. If Johnston and Edwards are fit next week, the changes are easy: GM and Bodle go out. Gardiner, Moore and Kluske were poor, but when the reserves lose by 80 points, there’s not much pressure on the league team.
Dined out on the bottom team last week- how’d he go against good oppo?
I thought the Dees just lacked some polish- every time they looked like making a charge, the Tigers responded. If they can somehow win next week- which is going to be tough- they should be confident if they need to play Claremont again
From what I saw the Demons battled manfully, and the stats quite interesting showed they had a +14 inside 50 advantage which would normally translate into a victory.
