Perth Demons V Mandurah Dockers :2

Let’s give it a rest Bro. The poor boy has developed a complex.

Oh, did I forget to congratulate the Coach and the players on a great win today?
How remiss of me. Well done fellas. It was a great game. Now ley’s go and get Souths next week.

Nigh, Nigh Johnno, and BTB. and Whitedm. and Demons Den, oh and Derek too.

For someone who preaches about facts and carries on like a lawyer you are either a hypocrite or a very dumb person. Why do you think people have usernames instead of using their own names? You have just shown what a brain dead moron you are. Looking forward to the next time we meet, whenever that might be??

In your eyes anyone who writes anything you don’t like is incoherent? There is nothing incoherent or not relevant about my response to Leedy’s post. You and your dumb arse brother have simply come on here with a personal attack and made zero input into the subject matter. Same shit different day!!!

You’ve trashed the site as per usual. Remember you got into trouble with the mods on here not so long ago with littering the site with topics about wineries and your favourite wine to try to cover topics you didn’t want to see? You and your sensitive brother are the ones who have the problem.

Nothing wrong with your response Johnno, but I don’t need to be at your club to realise that the final say sits with the coach as to who stays or who goes. If McMahon is bagged for past Demons performances, FFS he deserves the praise of the current on field success ! The buck stops with the coach on all facets, I can guarantee you if you lose your remaining games, it won’t be Atkins who gets the arse !

Leedy I know a bit more than the average punter, I have spoken to Marty Atkins first hand about what he is trying to do at the club and what he recognises the club is lacking in compared to what he experienced as a player in both successful and unsuccessful times at Souths.

We are not talking about a Mal Brown here who when he came to Perth single handedly brought in about 10 players from other clubs and several off field staff. DM has not attracted players and assistant coaches. If he was working with basically the same players and assistant coaches as last year then your rationale would hold up.

Take away 1 or 2 of those assistants at the end of the year and give him another 2 years would be a big big mistake IMO. I am looking ahead at the bigger picture, not just this year.
I can tell you now, it is Marty Atkins who is culling players, not the coach.

3 really good wins yesterday, the Colts trailed at 3/4 time but had the wind in the last and ended up winning by 28 points, season now at 6 wins and 5 losses but still 2 games out of the 4. Well done to Brayden Manuel who played his best game for the season in the backline, Brent Edmonds did a great job 27 possessions 2 goals, Jordan Leeson, Harley Litchfield and Alex Moreno other good players.

Arguably the worst game of football ever played and surely a new world record for the number of out of bounds on the full by Perth in that second quarter but great to get a win and fantastic to see Callum Collard debut so impressively. Matthew Moody just outstanding…again. Gee that bloke is having a fantastic season. Smart move playing him as the spare man in defence in that second quarter when he got leather poisoning.

The next four weeks are make or break. Four winnable games and a chance to smack down other challengers for a spot in the four. They need to get the points in all of them because its a tough run home after that.

Great to see the colts win again. Someone needs to check Karl Merson’s birth certificate. He’s a solid unit for an 18yr old.

Agree Dazzler, although I reckon the next 54 are winnable and we need to.

SF
SD
S
PT
EF

SD & EF obviously the hardest of those.

Then we finish
WP
EP
C
SF

So SF x 2, S x 1, PT x 1 are must wins

That’s 4 = 10

Then must win at least 2 of SD, EF, WP, C

Crucial time ahead and we need to keep our heads down & bums up and work hard.

Karl Merson from the Perth Colts will be 19 years old in December and a few weights have been done by the looks of him.

Good to see Ozfooty has embraced some of the Darren Harris ‘no dickheds’ policy and deleted a certain persons posts.

Couldn’t get to game or watch live but watching now on iView.

Brett Hodge - I love the guy, heart as big as Phar Lap!!

And Brendon Jones still as big a wanker as ever!!!

I agree Baseline Brett Hodge is a beauty.

Do you see him as future leader of the Club?

I think I have for some time.

Wanker Jones may be, but I think I would welcome him back (not that he would). He is still a very good midfielder like him or not.

I think we have unearthed some very good prospects this year.

Hunt didn’t look out of place yesterday, & Callum Collard looks very good. And of course Sinclair (not quite so good recently but bounced back yesterday) and Boyle has impressed.

I think they are all prospects for long careers at the Club.

Important 4 points to get, looks like 5 teams are vying for the last 2 spots in the 4.
I reckon all games from here are make or break.

Great 3rd qrt, what i dont like is this slow tempo chip around footy that we do when we are trying to stop the opposition from scoring or we are kicking against the breeze,we do this in any quarter,we may get away with it against the lesser teams likes Peel but not the top 4 or 5 teams.

Ransted is not a backman for mine, gets lost back there.
2 ruckmen will be a must against the top teams,do away with this makeshift 2nd ruckman, its never worked for us over the years and it wont work now!!

I agree 30+. Ransted turns the ball over too often IMHO and tends to be a spectator too often. We must get Johnston fit and well and settled into the backline. Deaves was useful yesterday but not sure if he is the answer. Busher to come back in and can play up forward or down back.

It seems that the WCE want McInnes to play as a ruckman. Has not been convincing most of the season as a key forward but played a lot better yesterday on the ball. I am in favour of 2 ruckman but we seem to have only Eyres, McInnes and Lyendekkers while Murray must be a big question mark as to whether or not he plays for us again.
I would like to persevere with Leyendekkers but seems like no room for him ATM.

The next 4 games are “must wins” and if we can snatch 2 wins from the remaining 5 games we would finish with 12 wins. It will be very tight for 3rd and 4th so we must make every game a “must win”. An interesting point is that we have a game in hand over most teams.

Houghton very good in the Ressies yesterday. lots of yap (something I rate highly), reading of the play, he is not one of these back men who watch their opponent, lots of speed particularly closing speed, and though I would like to see him with 5 kg extra he is not soft. I saw 2 and a half quarters of the ressies.

Of the newish players to the team yesterday, Deaves, Hug, Collard, Mather, and Hunt. Collard was the standout, second was Mather.

Bush, Boyle, Stack Jacobs, Leyendeckers and Donovan to come back in. Note I have not mentioned Johnson.

I hate singling players out but the team yesterday would be improved by:

Bush for Deaves.
Boyle for Hug.
Stack for Hunt.
Houghton for Ransted.
Leyendeckers when we are playing against a team with lots of height.

Mather (it is Michael isn’t it - hope i am not getting Hunt and Mather mixed up) best of the new three on ballers for mine.

Donovan and Jacobs next ones in line. Maybe even Jacobs for a certain start, can not remember him doing much wrong. I think they are pushing Hug - who is good but 26 years olds are better footballers than 20 year olds.

Hug, Hunt, Ransted, Deaves, Chrimes, Manuel and Richardson (yes I do realise he has been injured {shoulder even})and Johnson to be next liners.

Captain great yesterday, Bateman best game for us, White again hard at it, Risol has droped off a little but would rather it now than during the finals. Kane good, Eyers, good, Tunbridge and McInnes hitting their straps, Moody obviously good, Matty T excellent mark but would like to see him get the ball on quicker.

Left a few out but havn’t the budget in front of me and it is getting late.

A little more talk about the players and less about the posters on the sight would be nice.

Night all.

Time for a Flag

Nick Kane, Julian Jacobs and Jason Currie all lost grandparents during the week. This is obviously a very emotional time for them and their families.

You would have to think that this is the reason behind Julian playing reserves after not playing the week before against EP.

You would think after 30 possessions, 6 marks, 6 tackles, 6 inside 50’s and 1.1 goals he’d be back in the team this week.

And Risol

The commentators never mentioned that but if so condolences to all players and their families.

Thanks for the info Mr AFL.

I was wondering why Julian played ressies.

I think he only missed a week didn’t he?

What I saw of the second half of the ressies he would come back this week I would think.

Julian hasn’t played league football for Perth since the Swan Districts game. He’s currently sitting on 48 games so hopefully can find his way back into the team over the coming weeks and can reach his milestone.

I assume you mean Johnno, as I noticed he has been banned. To be honest I am not sure what he did to get banned but I really enjoy the banter on the Perth thread.

what a pathetic comment…really how long has Jones been at Peel now?..no matter the circumstances you really have to get rid of that chip on your shoulder Baseline, it must be awwwwwfully heavy…

interesting the oz footy powers to be… saw fit to delete some comments, yet they kept that one in…next time I’ll get the oz footy mods to explain to my 5 yr old nephew what Baseline meant about Brendan Jones…if your gonna play the big men and delete posts, ban posters, than at least be consistent and be fair across the board…

I know we have to give the Perth boys a few allowances for getting all giddy with experiencing some success…but don’t forget this is a site for all readers not just for those fella’s unwilling to let go of a grudge…how many years ago did Jones leave again?..Baseline EMBRACE what you preach mate…and Oz Footy step up to the mark and be consistent with your moderation…

Meant to say Reimers.
