Not a real club

They are being used by the WAFC to start the inevitable move to dropping the ressies altogether. This is the first step and gladly embraced by the WAFC funded sycophants down at Centrelink/injection room Park.

As some have said, either field 3 sides or pack up your wagons and pharkoff to a different comp. Go the Mandurah Thunder-Mustangs

How is it possible that a WAFL club cannot field a Reserves team?
Surely they would have a Colts squad of 50+ boys that 30 would not be chosen most weeks that could help fill the void for the Reserves team?
It would have to be a prerequisite on the WAFL bylaws that you must field a League, Reserves & Colts team each week?

I fear you are right SS this is just the first step from the WAFC to do away with the Ressies and they are using them as the excuse why!

So 24 seasons on from the Peel introduction, where we were all told by Duddington & co at the WAFC back in 1996 that it was to help grow, strengthen and showcase football in the fast growing Peel region and here we are in 2020 (where they are Fremantle’s Reserves side) and they cant field more than 45 players (League & Colts) on their own back every week?!

Don’t need me to tell you that anything linked to the AFL will do as they please. This I thought was the Final nail in the coffin regarding their incompetency with the Eagles just simply dropping out of the Comp followed by the Peel Reserves but then the salary gate reared its ugly head.

Its got me flabbergasted Leedy that they have not been held to account by the WAFC for not fielding a Reserves team in the WAFL competition?
We are talking about the equal second best (with the SANFL) Australian Rules Football Competition in the world here not F Grade Amateurs!
Surely there is a WAFL bylaw that says if you cant field a WAFL Reserves team you must face severe sanctions? Fines, Salary/Points Cap reductions, WAFL Licence suspended/disqualified?

BH I have had a read of the WAFL rules document current as at May 2020 albeit a quick one and could not see anything in there abt this point. It is 3Mg so could not attach.

Interesting story on The West online currently about Peel.

paid the Vicco too much eh???

Let’s see how hard the WAFC spanks their lovechild

Apparently this is their 3rd breach as well mate.
We will all be watching this space.

So brown paper bags are still in vogue hey? All this technology available but there’s no substitute for the old brown paper bag and a disgruntled former employee.

The thing that befuddles me is that they had a cap of $150k to pay less than 30% of the team and they still had to go outside of the system to do so.
They need lessons from an expert in how to pay outside the cap.

Spot on- why would they need to revert to brown paper bags??? Unless there was some other dodgy business practices going on

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. A line from the play Hamlet

they’ll get away with it just like the past - it’ll cause embarrassment to the mother & the AFL walked out on the poor bludgers
poor poor little bludgers

Supercoach has always said that their junior development is thriving. It just comes to show now that they cannot even field a Reserves side after taking half of Souths zones. They should be ashamed of themselves. They were the first to put their hand up for this season not to go ahead.

And half of our country zone too Roman.

Ifone can believe this?
Apparently, mentioned club concentrating on developing players from within the Peel district rather than recruit from outside its zone – apparently an approach which appears to be paying dividends. Apparently so.

They directly took big parts or all of three club’s zones - SF , SD & EP

and distorted five other club’s zones

in some cases very grotesquely

yet suddenly , inexplicably , there aren’t any players at a club to field reserves

???

Southy where is Duddington & co (Catalano) now I wonder who forced this mob onto all of us to supposedly help grow, enhance & foster the game in the Peel region??
Duddington is still on the Commission isnt he?

Hiding

Of all of the rubbish peel have subjected us to, 2 wins in first three years, never even looking like making finals as a stand alone club, going broke and getting bailed out,not putting a competitive team on field in first final, two fake flags, multiple salary cap breaches, for mine not being able to field a reserves the worst.

Time to pull the plug on peel.
