Great news! Bill Monaghan has agreed to a two year extension and will coach the Sharks for the next three seasons until the end of 2027.

I would have been surprised if he’d pulled the pin.
That is good news about the extension until the end of the twenty seven season.
Had they not been penalised the 4 premiership points prior to seasons start, they would have nudged Swans out of third place on the league ladder. The black and whites would have finished 4th.
Considering everything that has happened to the Sharks, they have had a good season. Although they would have liked to have gone deeper into the Finals.
Re-signing the Coach is a good move.
Great news for Bill and the Sharks. We needed some good news after the past few weeks. Still plenty of rumours of players leaving or retiring- guess we’ll hear more come Lynn Medal

A"third WAFL club is on the hunt for a new coach after Bill Monaghan stepped down from his role at East Fremantle with a year left on his contract.
The West Australian understands Monaghan handed in his resignation on Tuesday morning, ending his eight-year tenure at the Sharks which included leading the club to the 2023 premiership.
The 58-year-old Monaghan wanted a contract extension beyond 2027, but was told on Monday night that would not be forthcoming, so he decided to resign so a new coach could come in to take the club forward.

If the Perth boys didn’t like the hard line antics of German and Stone…not sure Bill is going to mellow for them

Seems a strange decision by the club. Bill seemed to be doing well with what he had.
Been there 8 years mate…turned the clubs culture around, played finals, won a Grand Final, ended a 25 year flag hiatus…naagh every one has an expiry date…great coach indeed. But a new face is needed to freshen up the senior boys, motivate the youngsters, and give hope to the ones in between.
Billy did a great job at EAST FREMANTLE.
Had his work out a bit,but pulled a Great Club up to be a Force for some time,with a League Flag to boot,plus a few others under the Club program.
That’s not giving him direct credit for those,but a Winning Culture was there because of him.

Would be funny if Bill swapped with Stone. Not out of the question I guess as both are good coaches
Maybe he might think he has unfinished business at South?
Can see it happening - loves the quids and long contracts.
He did a big build / renovation project on a house in my street and flogged it quick - made a mint.
