Michael Walters retirement

Fremantle great, Michael Walters has announced his retirement from football.
One of Fremantles many indigenous players who gave us many exciting times.
His seaon, 2025, has been plagued with a nagging right knee problem and has not been able to add to his 239 games.
As a young recruit from Swan Districts, he was sent back there to rebuild his body and get himself fit. He did that and proved many wrong about his ability.
Sadly, we will not see his number 10 guernsey make another appearance in Fremantle games.
A real class player in his prime, he gave fremantle supporters plenty of excitement during his career.
I hope that his life after football is a success.
Well played Son Son.And thanks for the memories.

Well said Senior. He was part of the 2010 Swans premiership team and had a distinguished career at the Dockers. As well as the injury issues he could probably see that his chances of getting back into the team were limited with the likes of Shai Bolton and Isaiah Dudley ahead of him. Great clubman and Swans could do a lot worse than make a phone call to him and check out his plans for 2026. I’m sure he will do a lap of honour at the Dockers next home game. Well played Sonny

Mike, I saw him onn the TV news earlier on in the week, right knee heavily strapped and limping badly, and I thought then that it could be over.
A great player and a credit to himself for getting to where he did.

Oh, and please the name is SEINOR, not Senior. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Thanks.

Maybe if I call you anchorman

Please do. I am still waiting for the Admin to change it for me.
Doesn’t feel right as it is.
I started back in 2013 as anchorman. :innocent:

Yeah you can now. Feels more comfortable.

Nice to have you back Anchor.

Thank you Mike. Nice to be back.
