2013 Landmark Country Football Championships
https://ozfooty.net/media/kunena/attachments/859/Landmarkpic.jpg
The best country footballers from around the State will descend on Perth for the 2013 Landmark Country Football Championships on Thursday, July 11.
The Championships will be played at various WAFL grounds over three days and include three senior divisions and a Colts competition. Qualifying games will be played on Thursday and Friday, followed by finals on Saturday.
Division 1 will compete in a round-robin format this year, giving those teams the chance to play each other at least once.
WA Country Football League General Manager Joe Georgiades said he was excited about the level of football that would be displayed over the course of the carnival.
“We’ve got the State’s best country footballers coming to Perth for the three day carnival so there will be a lot of talent running around and we are hoping the new look format encourages the best country players to attend the carnival” he said.
Senior sections will be played at Arena Joondalup, Claremont Oval, Brownes Stadium, East Fremantle Oval, Medibank Stadium and Steel Blue Oval
All Colts games will be played at Bendigo Bank Stadium in Mandurah giving the teams to play at a great stadium in the city of Mandurah.
“Country WA has a proud tradition of producing top players, so the competition offers the chance to see some of the best developing players before they move on to the WAFL or AFL,” Georgiades said.
Now dont forget the Landmark series..Played at a few grounds.
I will be going down Thursday and Friday (for sure) at 12 midday to watch some good footy and maybe a couple of beers.
The standard of Football is high and could surprise some.

Don’t know who’s who, but thats local legend Peter Sheridan at the back behind the team
Ongerup were in front at 3/4 time but ran out of steam, but not a bad effort from an Association that draws it team from an Area population of 1,700 at best
, and does not have paid players coming from the city.
