Josh Kennedy

JK announces he will retire at the end of the season. What a footballer and person he has been. He’s never been affected by notoriety and never put a foot out of place. Surely, even you haters of all things Eagles and all things AFL must have some respect for the man. If not, that is sad.

Genuine champion player and bloke, WC clearly got the best end of the trade with Carlton, shame he has to go out in such a crap season for WC, but he is a premiership player which not many can lay claim to. Wonder if he will head back to Northampton and play a few games up there next year.

Mate…I’m a Subi supporter first but lean towards Freo in the AFL and fully acknowledge what a terrific player and ornament to the game he has been. I think the term champion gets bandied around a little too much for my liking but he’s surely in the conversation. Over and above what he’s achieved on the field, he just seems like a decent bloke which is just as important imo.

Understand BC, I’m a Sharks supporter by a country mile, then an Eagles (bit obvious). I do though, find it very difficult to support their WAFL team.

Northhampton SS? I’d love to see him in a Sharks jumper for a season!! Good heavens, how much could he teach the younger brigade?

58 with your current midfield he would easily kick 60+ without much effort, if his body held up, but he appears to be a country lad at heart.

Well, there endeth the career of a bloke that will be considered a legend and a gentleman of the game. All the very best to him.

What a fantastic day for Josh. He showcased all his considerable leading, marking and kicking skills. Just a pity the Eagles couldn’t get over the line to make it perfect. Also a very humble champion. Will definitely be a hall of famer in future years.

I remember Anchorman labeled him one of the most over rated players he’d come across.

I can remember him as a teenager coming through the ranks at EF playing a League game at Basso against Swans and showing strong marking hands and a good work ethic even back then.
He has had a great footy career 723 goals would equate to 1000+ back in the 70s, 80s & 90s when Full Forwards actually played their position and didnt have to press up the ground, wasting energy or coming off for a rest twice a qtr, or deal with your forward space flooded by 18 blokes from the opposition and likewise team mates!

I do struggle to see where the game has got better up forward when it’s doubtful the upcoming generations probably won’t see another player kick 100 goals in a season.
Anyway, that’s a topic unrelated to this one.
