Covid

I think that closer to the mark. The China virus issues worse than publically stated. It is currently approaching midday on Friday and still no team selections are showing. To me that indicates either (a) that no-one, apart from the Colts are playing. Or (b) the club’s don’t know whom is available to play. I have never known team listings to be unavailable on a Friday for a Saturday match.

I actually rang someone at the WAFL about this just now- teams now only have to submit squad 4pm on Friday. No explanation why it’s changed- can we assume it’s a Covid thing? Odd considering there’s be a fair few here who would log into the WAFL site every Thursday night or Fri morning

That’s what I reckon is happening. Clubs are leaving it to the last possible moment to announce a team to cover for the possibility of withdrawals due to COVID. I reckon this virus is a lot more prevalent in the community than the numbers indicate.

That is the first I have heard of that KCEF but not totally surprising.
Sadly the WAFC as always just failed to let their fans know of this change, as it has been Thursday from 6pm since I started following WAFL footy 40+ years ago, even last week the teams were up on the Thursday night although yes there were a few games on the Good Friday.
The late great Colin Minson even had his Thursday night WAFL Team Selection show on 6NR where the Footy Managers of all WAFL clubs would ring through the selected side for that particular week between 6pm-7pm!

Would of been nice to have an annoucemnet

Ammos can be arsed getting their teams out on Thursday night but not this mob.

Nothing stopping the clubs putting teams up on their FB pages either…

Congratulations to the tiggers.Watched most of the second half on afl streaming and was impressed with some of their youth and maturity.I thought subi would win by ten goals.i would say this is one of the best wins in the wafl for many a year.

I know many will not agree but it does show what happens when a club can retain its colts and develop them into being good WAFL players. well done Tiggers!

Looks like the Peel v West Perth game has been hit with some of the Dockers guys out for Peel, which we already knew and Keitel, Meadows and Black out for the Falcons.

Great effort by the Tigers, they made a very average Subi look slow and disfunctional. They were fast, precise and direct, Lim Edwards and particularly Elliot tore us apart in the mids and House up forward was a great focal point. Their depth is something to behold, once they get back to full strength they are clearly the team to beat for the flag.

Really good win, really gutsy win but all it shows is that Claremonts 20% strength side was better on the day than Subis 40% strength side. It’s 100 v 100 that matters.

Good point TOO, the next time round at Leederville hopefully both teams will be near full strength and it should be a cracker of a game.
