Claremont v Perth Round 10

Let’s get the thread up and running.

Starting with a weather outlook.

Might be a Fine Day,but all that Rain before, will make it a heavy track,…just like the 1st Semi.

So,we need to get our hands Real Dirty and be prepared for the Physical Heavy Going.

And it would be nice if we delivered some No Beg yer Pardons hard stuff on our opponents.

Let’s see how we take this on,…On a day like that, mistakes WILL Be made by both sides.Put 'em out of your minds boys and just focus on the next passage of play.

I’m confident you guys can take this assignment on and plough through it with NO FEAR!

Didn’t Perth and Claremont play only a few weeks ago?

Yeah,we did.

A few fixtures like that and other Fixtures where Teams play each other at the beginning and end of the Season.

Quite Messy.

Oh yeah, then there’s only 1 Team that would be granted 3 changes within a week.

Any other Club save Peel(mantle)ask for that and they’d be denied! Not that people seem to making a fuss of it,unless they are on WAFLON?!

Let’s hope we get the same umpires who umpired the WC v CL game who were onto their usual dirty tactics like clattering into the back of a player. This is our chance to make a statement. Our effort against CL last time was unacceptable.

If this match is on Saturday the weather forecasters are tipping a mainly fine day. It’s been mentioned Sunday is the rainy day.

As I mentioned before,it might be Fine, but the ground condition won’t be,if it cops a lot of rain tomorrow and Friday.

I wonder if Claremont will be tempted to pick Mitch Barron who hasn’t played all year but marked down for a round 10 return. I think they will be without Minear and possibly Gowdie.

Maybe they put themselves on the casualty list doing so.

Be nice if they were pulled up,especially after last year’s 1st Semi.I fear not, unless the Club put in another phone call recently.

Is Barron still at Claremont?

Byrner, Klusk, Paton, Hine Baston in.

Making way Brayshaw, Fleiner, Moore and Cameron

Hopefully those back in the seconds were managed well.

We should look to win both league and reserves.

Good Ins,unlucky Outs.

Well you are after a Win.

Minnear’s Out for Claremont, but Gowdie must have passed a fitness test if there was any doubt about him.

If the boys are Really Prepared to get their hands dirty on a chopped up surface, were every chance.

Don’t fall for any funny stuff by Tigers or otherwise,Dees!

Keep a 4 Quarter Disciplined,Steely Resolve!

Brayshaw could consider himself unlucky, especially given the continued poor form from Gardiner. We need a lot more from Davis and Kluske too. Claremont look too strong. We will find it very difficult to keep both Gowdie and Hunter under wraps, while Rogers always has a day out against us. C also employ a tagger - Elliot did a number on Charlie last time, and got plenty of it himself. He might go to Parf this week - either way, it means someone like Cachard or Wills has to pick up the slack. We don’t match up well against C. They have a game plan based around short kicks to leading players all over the ground and we often don’t run hard enough to shut that down.

How do you rate WP Ted? Claremont got pumped by EP who lost to WP the following week and Claremont got blitzed by WC reserves last week. Oh and dare I mentioned we flogged WP not long ago. Going by your glum outlook we might as well not turn up on Saturday.

Anyone can beat anyone on any day and I’m optimistic we can knock them off. Would like to see JGM be a late in, possibly for Roberts. The bloke that needs to pull his finger out this week is Davis. Had one of his quietest games last week.

Some interesting takes here on Claremont.

Constable, Parfitt and Byrne against England, Rogers and Mainwaring.

And we don’t stack up?

Sorry I disagree.

Our backline of Dean, Scoble, Sing and Taylor has not been outstanding?

Sorry I disagree.

Our forward line of Clarke, Johnston, Paton and Kluske is not potent?

Sorry I disagree.

Our ruck of Edwards and Harding can’t win their fair share?

Sorry I disagree. Edwards is in career best form and Harding is a young tall agile ruckman who is quickly developing.

The thing standing between us and the best teams?

A psychologist.

It is time for us to stop being bullied and show the competition we have arrived.

Perth will win this one.

I hope you are right, but since 2016, we have had one win against C, in the Covid season. As I said, we seem to struggle to counter their game plan.

The longer it is since a win means it is closer to our next one.

I hear what you are saying Ted, but we just need a psychologist to get inside their head because they are good enough.

Just MHO.

Claremont seem to be struggling at the moment, two home losses in a row is very unusual for them. They are there for the taking but Perth have to believe they are good enough

Can we maybe go into this game with a plan b this time instead of the one wood of crash through or crash with crazy-brave fast ball movement? Hasn’t worked yet against SF or the Quentins.

That sort of footy won’t win too many games for anyone on a chopped up sloppy surface.

Gotta be hard yakka, move the ball on in front of you, bending the back and getting your hands dirty with the ball,or when they have it.

Man on man, rather than zonal footy.Keep our Forward Line IN our Forward Line, rather than taking Marks on a Wing.

Don’t think Hunter would be wondering too far from his Goal,so why would Clarkey and his cohorts.

I really don’t want to see an empty Forward Line, with us wondering why we’ve only kicked 2 or 3 Goals on a slippery day like tomorrow, even with the weather clearing up.

And if there is a Breeze,Use it please!

What the….?

Where’s my delete button? What a great win under immense pressure.

How did Hunter turn into such a piece of shite?Double middle finger to someone after a goal then refused to shake Charlie Dean’s hand.

Was this the best win under Mark Stone?
