Claremont turn things around

Very impressed by Claremont today against peel. Bolton, Rogers and the tigers big men were aggressive and full of energy. The young centre half back is very classy. How Bolton didn’t play state footy this year is beyond me, after that performance. His kicking is outstanding.

Peel lost players up front but were out muscled around the packs. I got the feeling the Claremont leaders reset themselves after the sharks game.
For Peel, Erasmus impressive. Johnson coming on. Wilson probably their best, for mine.

JL, the thing I noticed most was the far better use of handball this time by CL, they overused it v EF and put them selves under real pressure, but it was 1 or 2 positive long handballs to players in space then hitting targets by foot which made peelmantle look a bit slow. House did a job on Treacy and the CL ruck did an admirable job v Meek which gave their fleet of quality mids some decent use of the footy from stoppages. EF will have their hand full in the prelim if CL bring that same mind set.
Was I seeing things or did the CL v Peelmantle game draw a bigger crowd than the Joondy v EF game???

Decent crowd, by recent standards. . Good viewing at tigerland. Excellent grandstand.

Tigers can definitely beat the sharks.

The stand is a good spot to watch footy but would have been better if they had a roof!!

Considering EF & Cl were only separated by % at the seasons end, of course Cl can beat EF. Saying that EF has won their last two games v Cl by 40 + points, so hopefully that can give EF more self belief then complacency, in thinking that they can beat Cl for a 3rd time. Cl will be hoping EF will come into the game with more complacency then self belief…who ever wins I reckon will have more then a good chance toppling WP away from Joondy.

A good effort by ‘the monts’.

Tigers found form last week and took it into this game.

Tigers v Sharks similar to Brisbane v Melbourne this year. Two beltings during the season but win the important one

Forgive me for being old and dredging up old facts but I can remember '73 when we played WP 5 times, they beat us 4 times but we won the one that counts. I think CL have beaten Joondy twice this year so based on that you’d think Joondy are shoein.

Superb effort when it counted yesterday Tigers! Prescott absolutely out coached Monaghan……I think the Tigers will take it right up to the Cardinals! Also I admire the clubs humility in that all season you haven’t complained about circumstances related to injuries and players missing due to various reasons other than injuries. The Tigers just got on with it……a no excuses approach all season. All class Claremont!

Yeah well done Claremont Football Club for not coming onto the OzFooty forum to complain about injuries or players missing due to various reasons other than injuries. So many other clubs do. I am sure the club will be reading this so absolute class.

Um, well done Claremont but:

  1. Except Tiger of Old, no one supports them so no one posts here
  2. They had no injuries.

Hope the Tigers can rise to the occassion and it will be a monumental win off a hot day and 6 day break

Good luck to Cl for the GF…should be a cracking contest…two teams at near full strength…both been at near full strength all season…bar the odd injury here and there…no excuses for either side in all honesty…
