C3 Finals Rd 2

First week of finals done and dusted and The Roosters put their foot down against The Valley and cruised to a 5 goal win. The Swans got their win over The Falcons by just 4 points in what I assume was an epic game for it to be that close!

The Roosters won their reserves game over The Swans (one group at Valley and another at Warnbro is hard work) while The Tigers knocked of The Falcons.

This week the 2 top sides have had their rest and now have to step up to finals footy which isn’t always easy.

LEAGUE

Tigers Vs Roosters - This game will be huge and looking forward to it but I went through the results and The Tigers just aren’t inspiring me with confidence and finishing on top, they should. The only team to beat them twice this year is Valley and its 1-1 between these 2. After The Roosters put Valley to the sword by 5 goals I can’t make a case for The Tigers to win this. Roosters for mine have one hand on the cup and I’m tipping them by 5 goals.

Valley Vs Swans - Valley didn’t show up last week and get a second chance luckily. Swans scraped past The Falcons and now have to trek up the freeway to play the grape growers. Have to go with my heart and hopefully the boys can make another pre-lim after being in the C2 pre-lim just 3 years ago. Valley by 4 goals

RESERVES
Students Vs Tigers - Students have walked their way to the minor premiership and it will be hard to not pick them to win everything. Students by 6 goals

Falcons Vs Roosters - Falcons now have a chance to send a couple fringe players down which always helps in finals and Roosters have to hope no injuries from last week. Again they are split between the 2 grounds which sucks. Falcons for me by 3 goals.

good luck all and enjoy the frothies!

First round of finals are now done as we say good bye to Coolbinia who got edged out in a 4 point thriller. They came hard at warnbro in the last quarter but it just wasn’t enough as warnbro just held on. Coolbinia had a massive crack towards the second half of the season to finish fifth so well done to them and I’m sure they will be back stronger next year. Cott getting the job done over valley who just seemed to not be able to take control and making silly mistakes with turnovers.

Canning v cott . The rain during the week will have the pitch nicely moist under foot. Canning had the week off and should be well rested and fresh. Will cott be able to really step it up and take it up to the ladder leaders once again. Winner through to the GF and books a ticket to c2.
Canning at home by 10 points, I hope this win might change your mind on how you see the Tigers Viper….. haha

Valley v warnbro. That last quarter last week might have a taken a toll on a few warnbro players with possibly a few sore bodies. A big trip once more down Roe hwy into the valley for the warnbro boys. As for valley, well I’m sure they will be a bit flat from last weeks efforts but they need to get up and about early and really out the foot down in this one.
Valley by 16 points

Ressies..
Canning came out all guns blazing last week to put away a solid Coolbinia side, they will need to do that once more against a serious contender in Uni. At home and with the crowd behind them I’m tipping Canning by 2 points

Coolbinia get there chance at it against a hot in form Cott. The cott boys had an outstanding second half last week against warnbro and could do no wrong. Cott by 7 points

Good luck everyone

Valley went down in the last minute after leading all day. Lost by 3 points to end their campaign and fallen short I reckon.

Canning got up in a nail biter as well. Roosters out of the blocks early and had Canning on the ropes at quarter time only to let the Canning midfield take over which takes out the Roosters F/F and Joshy Pullman. Great tandem act down there but the ball needs to get down to use them up. Roosters about to head inside 50 when the siren sounded. Will definitely be these 2 again in 2 weeks.

Viper, has Canning got you convinced yet?

unfortunately no … 3 of my mates coach the team so I hope they win but they were pretty bad in that first quarter and when Roosters get another go in 2 weeks I’m not sure in a Grand Final they’ll let a team back in like that. The Tigers got dominated badly in the first quarter. Flipside is they did well to get back in it and then the game see sawed for 2 quarters with The Roosters going inside 50m when the siren sounded.

It takes 4 quarters to win a Grand Final so either team could win it but I would not be banking on Tigers just yet. Should be a ripping contest.
