Wow.. what an interesting weekend of footy. Was it just me or was it really windy. Viper where are you I need you.
From the higher grades to the lower grades it was upset city. But most importantly all the action was happening in c2.
Gossy started hard and fast before Kingsley took full control . Curtain uni kept trying to get their way back but swan view just kept finding away to push forward and kicking the goal with a minute to go to ice the game.
Kingsley dug deep in the last qtr with a slight wind advantage to kick four and keep Belmont scoreless. Piara looked like they were going to run away with against valley but then #2 for Valley stepped up in the back line basically winning them the game.
Belmont and canning vale went back a fourth as both sides really struggled in the first half and it was a lot of congestion footy. Third quarter was pretty even but the last was dominated by Belmonts run and carry while #15 was electric.
Piara just looked flat. The wind probably didn’t favour any end in particular as it seemed to swirl and come across the ground at most times. But the Kingsley boys were on. You could just feel there energy. Gee wizz the umpire didn’t miss anything and probably had the whistle glued to his lips. Well done to Kingsley on getting all three teams through to the GF and now getting the week off.
Piara Waters Reserve -
Colts: swan view v Gossy. The gossy boys definitely have the talent they just need to make it work. Swan view have a few taller boys which could play to their advantage but I can’t go past Gossy with this one. Gossy by 17 points
Ressies: if that valley player plays the way he did last week they will definitely have chance. Belmont I’m sure will have a lot to chat about and work on tweeking some things here and there I’m sure especially after last week, they sure do have some handy players that need to get more involved to get them going.
Belmont by 5 points.
League: big learning for Piara last week, after being left flat and trying to play catch up footy all day. That’s not going to work against Belmont, they definitely have some speed on the outside that’s for sure. I would hate to see Piara go out in straight sets. Belmont will bring the crowd and noise that’s for sure but piara need to play there style of football. Piara by 3 goals
