Was hoping for this to be kicked off by one of the B Grade regulars, so I can only assume you’re all on holiday.
Will the long weekend, covid and a festival down south play havoc with team selections, I guess we’ll see.
Anyway, here goes:
Swan Ath V Mt Lawley
Haven’t heard a whole lot out of Ath over the off season and they probably haven’t had the start they’d of liked. Lawley on the other hand seem to be flying after a few very handy acquisitions across the grades.
Home ground advantage will no doubt play a part, but I get the feeling that the Hawks are the real deal here and will run hot 5 goal winners.
Melville V Whitford
A far better Round 2 showing from Melville last time around, but they still came up short against Ridge. Whitfords on the other hand, have been fantastic in claiming 2 big early scalps and look to be on the rise in a big way.
Melville play their small ground well, but it won’t be anywhere near enough to stop the warrior train who will run out 8 goal winners.
I dare say it’s going to be a long season for the rams.
Baldivis V Wanneroo
Baldivis are going to be competitive in this grade make no doubt about that, but I still don’t think they are up there with the top 3 just yet. Wanneroo have picked up where they left off in 2022 and are coming along very nicely indeed.
Does a 90 minute road trip make this a challenge for Wanneroo? Absolutely! But I still think their quality will see them over the line by 2 goals in this one.
Wembley V Collegians
Contrasting starts to the season for both of these 2. Wembley would not have seen themselves sitting at 0 and 2, so
will want to turn that form around quickly before they lose too much ground on the top sides.
On the other hand, the boys from the Triangle are absolutely flying with a couple of very good wins early on. I expect them to continue on their merry dance until the uni holidays decimate them in June.
Going on form, I can’t tip against collegians and expect them to get up by 3 goals in this one.
Ocean Ridge V BullCreek Leeming
Ridge have had a reasonably good start to the year and will be happy with their bounce back last week.
For BCL it’s been a case of being highly competitive, but not quite getting over the line against 2 of the better sides on the competition. They are far better than their 0 and 2 position suggests, and I expect results to swing their way in the coming weeks.
This one will go right down to the wire, but I’ll go with the Bombers in an upset by less than a kick.
Good luck to all teams.
