and the news today is

Unless Sheppard pulls the pin, WCE only have 1 spot available, there are a number of players invited for pre season training over the summer…unfortunately for EF there are 3 players in the gun…can’t blame those players one bit for accepting the invite and having a crack. Time will tell who gets the nod…Interesting to hear a few of the invites begin pre season training tomorrow, whilst the others apparently begin in the new year…work that one out…

Freeze I thought he had pulled the pin.

That seems inevitable Freezin sadly for Sheppard and probably you blokes.

Don’t think anything has been officially confirmed as yet Grump, though inevitable as you say DD…what will be will be…just make the final decisions sooner rather then later…allowing the clubs who lose players, time to look for a decent replacement…but that won’t happen…how many drafts do these AFL clubs need before finalizing their playing list?..obviously the folk in these roles are indecisive and farking useless at their jobs…if WCE needed a back up ruck, just select Strnadica in the rookie draft…get it over and done with, allowing EF to go out and find a replacement…TBH clubs should be made to finalise their lists by Dec 31st…any one who gets injured, retires etc after that date in the preseason tough shit, you play short…that’s footy…because isn’t that what WCE and the other AFL clubs are saying to clubs their raiding last minute in the WAFL, SANFL etc…tough shit if you can’t find a replacement, not our problem…wish the WAFL would stand tall and say, if you pick someone in Dec its free, in Jan you pay that club 20K, in Feb its 30K, in March it’s 50K…might result in the AFL clubs making quicker decisions.

I thought that he was going to address the playing group on monday to confirm it after Dr’s advice had confirmed the issues.

They have now invited Keitel and Dixon to train on after Darling’s anti-vax stance.

Don’t forget those two SF boys starting their train on blocks next week…plus Schlensog waiting in the wings due to McGowan’s borders. Keitel and Dixon would definitely strengthen WCER team, which is what Nesbitt wanted last year.

Interesting no one from the 2021 premiers Subi has taken WCE eye…Mayo surely deserves another looksie…plus it amazes me not one recent Sandover Medallist gets an invite…yeah Bolton is probably too old, but surely Cl Rogers or SD would atleast be given a train on run.

Mmm time will tell -

WC seem desperate to bring NicNat back early, I think it’s a mistake to rush him back given they aren’t going anywhere this season. If he’s still part of their planning for next year, I’d give him at least 2 games with WCER to ease him back in.

So WCE looking to keep their WAFL side for next year, hopefully seeking recruiting concessions to bolster their side. Would of thought SSP and MSD were concessions enough on top of having the pick of the best up n coming talent in the state and country through the November and Rookie drafts.

Not the other WAFL clubs fault or concern WCE injury list was / is high, due to from all reports, some poor S&C injury management, training on a footy surface that has seen the PFC smashed with soft tissue injuries etc over the last 2 years and recruiting/keeping players with documented injury history concerns or 30 + years old.

Didn’t see WCE blink when recruiting Dixon, Joyce and Strnadica a few weeks out before the season started.. .so why should clubs like EF blink if WCER role out a weak 22 on game day…they know what they need to do…find an alignment club or just spread their players around the comp…won them a few flags back in the day from memory.

Spreading them around the league is the best option. Their players get a chance to win a few games. It also strengthens the Wafl. It will benefit them and freo in the long term with no damage to wafl Footy.

The WAFL distribution is the the obvious answer, the only time they are away from the club, it’s coaching staff etc is on WAFL game day, so they still have almost 100% influence over their players. Surely playing for a proper WAFL team is preferable to playing with a group half made up of ammo’s or unwanted former WAFL players. No disrespect to Ammo’s.

It worked well for years with WA boys playing for their club of origin and the eastern states boys distributed via a draft based on the previous years finishing order with last getting first pick.

Lucky souths.Get the beagles at the right time.I always want to laugh when people predict their top 5 for the year and include the beagles..You can see in just one game how the beagles will go from a very good side to a average side having to patch their side with ammos.s again.

Agree Chaddy, they need to bring in 5 players from WCER and from what I saw on Saturday when they had to work hard to beat a Subi ressies team there’s not that many who can step up apart from Petraccelli, Clark, Rotham and maybe West. Souths can look forward to a big % booster.

Guess who haven’t got enough players to field a side this week?
They may have to postpone their match.

now Nisbett has a stool pidgeon in his ranks and he’s called a staff crisis meeting to flush the bug out
if that’s a big concern well wait for the Chick memoir that will ooze out in the future - that’ll be an absolute gas

Didn’t know anything about the Chick memoir Southerner.Do you know when it’s coming out?

it almost came out 3 or 4 years ago when he went public about the total lack of support to an ex-player who has serious issues arising out of football and said he was going to publish a memoir about his time at West Coast
It all suddenly went away soon after that - Nisbett-style
There is some seriously explosive stuff just waiting

Southerner, that blue and yellow carpet in Nisbetts office is resembling the Lancelin sand dunes and his prized broom is wearing very thin.
