2026 WAFL Attendances(Watch)

,Bazza.

I repeated the Sport FM Figure that was provided to them during The Derby of 5 231.

It got downgraded today to roughly 300 less, that had more than just tour’s truly scratching his head.

What looks like a crowd to one, isn’t to another.

Gee whiz, here I am talking up a good crowd for you and all of a sudden your usual Flag Flying falls a bit flat!

Unless it’s just South Supporters allowed to pump up Doggie Tyres?

A bit Insulat methinks!

Just being honest about it, two old dogs there knew the numbers.

Im sure you know Latho like back of you hand - well the old big one anyway Grassy…..

Don’t sell your Club short,Bazza…

Would never do that, it was an OK crowd but lies about attendance get us no place at all.

If there were,I tend to think someone’s Tanking WAFL Attendances for lord knows why?

164 Peel v East Perth

That SURELY MUST BE A MISPRINT,which needed SERIOUS checking before being published!

Peel’s President’s Lunch should have got 150 - 200 by itself.

That Attendance figure was amended to 1 035.

Must have been a dreadfull slip of the keyboard, but at least it’s Fixed

Subiaco v East Fremantle was amended,up by 86 to 1 186.

No point worrying on Wafl crowd figures. They’ve come a right cropper since about twenty 10/ 12. And in the last few years fallen orf the cliff altogether. Sad to say.

Too many fair weather supporters are taking the easy option and watch it on the couch unfortunately where you don’t fully appreciate the contest.

I disagree westaussie.

I have been going regularly since around 2010/11. Crowds have dropped off by around 30% to the eye. Say a crowd at Lathlain use to be regularly 2500 - now regularly around 1800. This 1800 figure has been pretty stable for 5 or 6 years too. If anything perhaps a little more this year after our return to finals.

Either way a correct estimate is important because as the old saying goes “you don’t know where you are going if you don’t know where you have been”.

in other words, “Know your current position - so you can improve it”

How can the WAFC improve attendance figures if they haven’t got accurate figures.

Surprised so many on here have poo poo’ed the idea of getting an accurate picture on this.

Well we should always worry about Attendance Figures Guy!

What do you suggest we do?

Throw our arms up,say it’s terrible and Do Nothing?

What are the Clubs doing about it,as well as the Football Commission?!

Are they promoting each Fixture as far as their Zone stretches?

Are they informing the Public about Club Facilities and Game Day services, whether the day is Fine or Wet?

Are they Recording ALL Attendees that walk through the Turnstiles, whether they pay or not?

Are they publishing the Spot On Correct Figures?

I would have thought they were doing everything possible to get People to WAFL Footy and getting the AFL Clubs to Pull their Head and do their bit

So,How about they DO SO?!?!?!?!?!

Silly thing about that is with all the folk that have Footy hooked up to their Phones, they could almost watch 2 games at once, can in hand in the Sun.

Granted, the Perth Weather isn’t always perfect even in Winter, like this weekend. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

But on a Fine,Brilliant Perth day in the Indian Summmer Winter Sun,give the couch a break and come on down, especially if the 2 AFL Clubs are Not playing on Saturday!

It’s less expensive than AFL Footy for starters and WAFC AND WAFL Clubs should lower the Adult Entry Price to $10 or $15 and see how they go for the rest of the Season.

I think the clubs get the gate takings for H&A games so doubt there will be support for lower pricing.

This year I have become more pessimistic about the WAFL’s future - sadly heading towards the fate of the VFL. Sadly it seems to becoming a vehicle for the almighty “Talent Pathway”.

Unless the WAFL Clubs Flat Outright said NO to the AFL Clubs wishes of having a FULL BORE Talent Academy of their own.

GOOD!

They can NOT be allowed to have them evolve that way,UNLESS they come to a SATISFACTORY AGREEMENT WITH ALL THE 8 WAFL CLUBS !

Peel are only a 70% Club for the Time being, based on Peel playing about 49 of 69 players So they shouldn’t be allowed a Vote on this, whilst their Alignment still exists!

Consequently though,I guess that’s why the 2 Bunches of Administrators here(rather than the Clubs)are finding new ways to PI*S OFF the WAFL CLUBS!

Spirit of Closer relations between the WAFL Clubs and 2 AFL Administrations are a VERY LONG WAY OFF in my book and Brad Wira has a lot of work to do before it starts to happen.

It did happen for a short time, according to a Past Club Administrator years ago.Sadly not so now!

If the 2 Club AFLers here, want a better relationship with the WAFL Clubs,STOP Dancing a SYCOPHANT DANCE to AFL House’s Tune!

I think you’ll find most gate attendants these days are paid rather than volunteers so that has to be built into the price.

Maybe the Clubs can brainstorm a way to allow for that

WAFC set a record for Posting Attendances today, that would match the Weekend News Green Pages of old.

Well,with 4 of them anyway.

But 894 at Lathlain,counting Colts,Parents and friends,Surely Not?

Notice 7WestMedia were very quick to post 1 500 at Arena today and not Paywall Peel’s Thumping Win,…funny, that!

700 at Leederville yesterday seems about right.

Seems like an A1 misprint or more,if you ask me.

Surely there were more than that?

Maybe not too many more, but I’m guessing when a couple of hundred Colts,Parents,Friends leave early,it seems like only a very sparse crowd.

I guess with all those excess Dockers supporters who can’t get a game, sorry, get into an AFL Game, waiting until Sunday for the Dockers to play, the effort of having a wander to a WAFL Gsme is too much.

I suppose the Rain settled it.Not much, but getting an odd drop on the old bonce is just too much.

And West Coast supporters, well they don’t even watch their own Reserves Team play a standalone Fixture on Friday Night,so what hope Saturday, when they’re glued to the Telly, watching a hopeless cause at the Dome in Melbourne.

Same with Freo supporters regarding the Weather. One look out the window at 1.45PM,….cloud about.Nah!

I mean,I’m hamming this up somewhat, but to get those 2 sets going,…maybe,we’d have to -

1 - Check the AFL Fixtures for each weekend
2 - Reassure them the Weather has ZERO chance of Rain
3 - Somehow convince them that Attending a good old fashioned WAFL Game is far better than plonking on the couch to watch 2 “Victorian AFL”Teams!

Tough sell these days!

894 would be fairly accurate I reckon most would have stayed away due to the weather forecast but actually it was a ripper day didn’t rain until midway through the last qtr. South supporters don’t travel especially if their team isn’t going so well. Couch viewers.

Normally see 30-50 people sitting in the fenced off pooch park at Belgravia yesterday looked no more than half a dozen hanging onto their dog on a leash under the new rules not allowed to let Lassie run around off the leash on game days. This social experiment on Moss St gets more and more fascinating as time goes on.

Check the attendances of SF home and away games brother and then repost the facts, not your tunnel vision shite.
