After last week, Souths would be going in as slightly favoured i would think. It sounds East Perth were rather flat in the final qualifying round match.
The weather is looking good for the weekend. Hopefully a bumper sell out crowd will be in attendance for both of the finals matches.
That’s an impressive list of players who’ve represented both clubs, Southy.
A few more players who spring to mind include Geoff Gillies (EP to SF, via Subiaco and Central District), Gary Greer (SF to EP), Brock Higgins (EP to SF) and Ashley Hutchinson (SF to EP).
Harking back to the glorious Phil Matson era between 1918 and 1928, EP recruited the likes of Reg “Nashy” Brentnall and Hugh “Bonny” Campbell from SF.
The story as I heard it was that McKnight was replaced during either a League or Reserves match at Perth Oval. I am not sure which. He didn’t take kindly to being replaced (it wasn’t Interchange in those days) and promptly showered and left the ground and the Club. The following season he was at South Fremantle.

Interchange was in operation by ‘92,he played League that day against East Fremantle and if it was before June 30,think he may have got to South later that year.

Mcknight was another one of those players whose opinion of his worth and ability just did not match reality. His brother was a serviceable player.
This list of players who fall into this category is quite long. recent ones would be the one from Claremont now at Subi via EP and P, another would be the player from EP to P and then WCER. There are others but these are some of the more recent ones!
Hard to tell how this one will go, just got there last time, a rematch, all the contests seem close, EP will be keen not to exit early after losing the GF last year.
I think another close one with us maybe just having the edge at home, but Parker will need another big day, if he gets held well it will be the Royals.
Been led to believe Souths going into this match basically with an unchanged side to last weeks team? They should be more settled one would think.
Both teams played some good footy this season. The Southerners winning 6 matches in the second half of the season to East Perths’ 5. Going to be close at the end. South Fremantle averaging 72.9 points at Home whereas the Royals averaging 68 points on the road.
Heard on the grapevine South Fremantle are paying 1$ & 65c for the win.
And East Perth currently parked on two dollars 10 cents. Just in case there is any one out there interested in having a flutter that has a spare tener or red one in their pocket.
