Personally I think the entire AFL drug policy is a fisaco, I think the delay in dealing with Essendon has been farcical, and I hope they feel the full brunt of the the laws.

TF under WADA ADO-9604 is banned, the AFL are signed to this code through ASADA, Watson has admitted injecting this Ped up to 40 times, tbh I can’t see any innuendo at all, WADA has come out and said its banned quite a few times lately, the silence from the AFL is deafening.

Did JW take a banned drug? - Yes he has admitted that.
Does it matter he and Essendon signed a consent form? - No WADA don’t care whether you knew or not. If its in your body your guilty. Just ask Shane Warne and his year suspension from cricket for taking diet pills from his mum!
Should he be playing now - No bloody way. How can he is he has admitted he using a performance enhancer. As a minimum he should be stood down until he is cleared or found guilty.
Should he have his Brownlow taken away - Not until the findings of the investigation are complete. If he is found guilty…of course it should.

Well done Viper that article shows it for exactly what it was! It actually justifies the crowd reaction just just towards Watson but as a message to this whole saga. Probably the biggest hypocrite in this whole debacle has been James Hird! He has been apart of everything this supplement program at Essendon stands for and he needs to go!

Nahh not all all 58, we got beaten by better teams on the day. No club is clean and respectable to that degree 58. Didnt see or hear fyffe mc pharlin etc get booed. Ballentyne (most hit bloke in the afl according to tribunal records) and Crowley( read stevie baker or stevie milne) probably get what i call “deserved reaction” form all oppo fans.
without reciting the whole afl book of Ders and Booing, i think the point here is why are certain players supposedly immune from any crowd confrontation, where others arent?
i support a victorian team however i am a west aussie, and the double standards applied by the afl media are an embarrassment. because the media are mostly victorian, this will always be around.
james hird and jobe watson are goldenboys of the vic metro. sqeeky clean cut family men and all of that. if say a port adelaide, fremantle or west coast player had gone on tv and admitted to constant injections of a banned substance, would the same curtiousy apply from sections of the afl media ?? that would be a resounding no! people like luke darcy, mark robinson, caroline wilson, garry lyon, craig hutchison etc etc would be calling for their heads, club and all.
essendon have been given a luxury service in this area. everyone outside of victoria knows it, but they are never allowed to be heard. nobody in the melbourne media will answer a direct question on the subject without a direct answer. they give a political cop-out answer, and sidetract viewers with a professional diversion.
the afl are a disgrace in all of this. the NRL have actually proven to be the most respected code in terms of action. stripping melbourne storm of 2 premierships, making them play out a season for no points, and handicapping them accordingly. this whole essendon subject has dragged on as long as the afl want it. and that is past september. to upstage the season now will be a disaster for the afl. the NRL have earned my respect. the AFL demetriou led basket case has failed. not just in this one case, but the whole drug area. it is now biting them in the backside and i for one hope it hurts them. they deserve to be whipped.
if the spineless afl media put as much effort into their facinating topic of booing jobe watson, as they did into the injecting/essendon issue itself. then all of this would show some resemblance of common sense. but like I just said, the afl media throw in a strategic diversion like a booing crowd, and instantly the brain dead masses out there forget the core of the issue.

jardine I largely agree with everything you say, I am at a loss why and how the afl are working all this, it is a monumental stuff up ad getting worst by the week, I agree with you in hird, he is extremely wealthy and influential individual that appears to be pulling lots of strings to protect himself.
In terms of the media, yes they are Victorian centric, but honestly the local W A media are an embarrassment when it comes to being pro the two local franchises. ch 7 , should be renamed channel eagle they and the west are major sponsors of the eagles and don’t miss a chance at blatant self promotion the local media are just as bad in that respect.
