Clean sweep

The EF did have 3 players out from the 18’s but I would never have thought that at EF the replacements would not have been able to step up and carry out the game plan. I am rapped with our game and the EF coach Foster made no excuses just was impressed with our game and execution.

The Ressies (largely last years colts) played very well and again the game plan worked a treat. 2 wins great day for me.

oops 3 wins

All involved that would be in no particular order- Nisbett, Worsfold, Bell, Narkle, Hickmott…

bell doesn’t ring a face.who is he.

Gavin Bell ..the WCE development coach!
You should get to know your own clubs coaching staff a bit better chaddy! :pinch:

I could have sworn my team actually won today!
You are deadset kidding yourself if you think WCE have no influence at EP already!
obviously have no influence at swans.murray newman hmm.

Muzza is a Swans boy born & bred chaddy!
Next you will be trying to tell me Morton, Cripps, Wellingham, Schofield, Wilson, Rosa, Lycett, A.Selwood et al are Mt Lawley/Inglewood old boys!!

Hahaha that’s what a was thinking

touch wood then Grump that these boys will be still executing the game plan next year…kudos to EP thru all three grades for a productive weekend

…back to the drawing board for all 3 EF coaches…though TBH, Marsh, Jansen, P.Cripps, Allirr and J Cripps are 5 of EF top colts boys and were missed more than the likes of Foster thought…still a few wins left in the bank…EF will still play off in the colts GF I reckon…

the reserves went from kicking 16.2 one week and winning to kicking 4.15 and losing…kicked 2.7 to EP 0.3 in the first…had a chance to blow EP out of the game and didn’t and paid the price…

EF league led all day and got pipped…can’t be too disappointed considering EP will be there and there abouts come finals time…to many close losses for my liking for EF…but hey that’s footy…just got to wear it on the chin…

Just a question without notice guys. Does Brian Dawson have autonomy and control over his players from the Eagles? I realise if a Eagle is dropped back he must play him but does he make the final decision on how he plays him and where he plays him?

It seems to me, acepting a little bias, that he does have a larger degree of autonomy than I first thought would be the case, Lycett is definitely second ruck, the rest just seem to play their normal positions.

Thanks Grump thats what I thought… As Hutchings didnt play the 1st qtr WP v Subi under inst from the Eagles. Dont ask me why. Under inst from Eagles could only play 75 minutes so Coach kept him out for a qtr.

I have noticed as well when had a Eagles guy in our reserves a couple of weeks ago because the host club had a bye (Perth)
Simon Turnbridge from memory played for WP under instructions from Eagles. Another player played for Peel x Eagles because of the rule re player will play with the bottom side of Reserves. Being 2 players Peel got one and we got one due to ladder positions.

Now I suppose next year the Eagles and Dockers players will not get a game because they will be aligned with EP or Peel so they wouldnt be able to play with another club in the Ressies. Another amendment to the WAFL RULES AND REGULATIONS.

I noticed when I went down to the change Room for the ressies at Half time Turnbridge did not listen to Paul Sanzone’s instructions to his team but was with another guy from the EAGLES? Who was giving him instructions.

Now my point is once these Alignments :frowning: start will the WAFL coach EP and Peel have a full input into his side and where, how and time they play? Dont think so and I really think due the number of AFL players they have in the side they will basically be under instruction from the AFL clubs. Just puppets.

Maybe being positive as one person said to me at least the WAFL coach from the G7 will have full control over his selections and have them set in concrete by Thursday whilst the Peel and EP coaches will not really know until in some cases Saturday and he will be dictated to by the AFL clubs…
So we basically have 2 clubs that are AFL reserves side fully under the control of their AFL club. Gee didnt the reserves sides idea get shit canned? Looks like the same thing to me.

And then we have 10/11 players running on who would normally be 10 pointers under the points system but because they are AFL they are exempt and no points are allocated to them.. Gee that leaves a lot of points for the other players that make up the side if you catch my drift.. Bloody good ressies side as well almost a Full league side really.

Talk about domination -Talk about a mess

i agree grump.i think he has had to make a deciision on where to play cale morton.he wasn’t looking good as a wing/midfielder/forward and i think he has had to find a position that works for us and that is in the backline.talking about autonomy interesting to read 4 players had limited minutes in the east perth east freo game.schofield and cripps for us and shepherd and brennan for the sharks.seems like the tentacles of the eagles goes beyond just our club

you have come up with what i thought was a good reason for players being evenly spread thru the 9 clubs.it will be a problem when eagles and dockers have a bye.imagine if we have two byes in a row like we have after the peel game.i don’t think the eagles will be amused.i don’t think it will be good for player development if either side have an abundance of let’s say ruckmen.how do you play 3 ruckmen in a team or does one have to play ressies.i saw it happen at west perth a few years ago when both seaby and warnock were playing aginst us kuhnnen was the next back up ruckman if either was playing afl and brent connolly was playing reserves not getting enough playing time so the dockers had to move him to perth.

cardy the ponts/non zone players for aligned clubs needs to be worked out.at the moment east perth are only on about 100 points beacuse they have a minimum of non zone players where most others are at 130 limit.all they have to do is limit the points/amount of non zone players the aligned teams have.just remember all clubs need to have at least 55 senior players and with 130 ponts for each club.no matter what they come up with lower points a cap on non zone players and less money for your salary cap it won’t be problem.

I could have sworn my team actually won today!

you missed my point.you guys said you will straighten him out.they left him at swans but any evidence his attitude on and off the field has improved.if he gets delisted who takes the credit.

i don’t know how you can’t at least acknowledge 2002.after all didn’t you get kane munro richard taylor and chad morrison in the reshuffle of eagles players at the start of the year and i think it may have been ashley hansen’s first year at the eagles and guess what he played at the swannies not east perth.you guys have selective memories.then again 2002 wasn’t a memorable year for the swannies do you remember your only victory.it wasn’t against us.

Chaddy,

I don't particularly like having a crack at you because you are a regular poster, but you must understand the anguish of others. The Ferals thread only lights up when you blokes win a few, it is very dormant in between. In regards to 2002, you benefitted from the freed up funds of the alignment from the previous 2 seasons, Symons, Wilson, Thompson and Turnbull just to name a few were payed big bucks from Eagles funds carried over, no other WAFL club had that clear advantage !

And just to make a clear point, don’t go pulling the piss out of the Perth F.C because taking away the tainted treble, you blokes are 1 year to the betterment !!! Although you have frequented Finals footy more regularly.
you keep trotting the myth about how we were advantaged financially.did all wafl clubs start off the 2002 year with eagles and dockers players who were payed by the afl clubs.did everybody have the same salry cap.as for symons and turnball being delisted players they would have come out of our salary cap it is not as if we had extra money on other clubs to spend on players.we also would have paid transfer fees on both turnbull and symons.when turnball got dlisted he automatically reverted to being a claremont player and i am sure we had to pay a transfer fee to claremont.same with symmons when he got delisted he reverted to being a west perth player.i am sure your mob took a transfer fee.not sure what the troy wilson comment is about.he was a paid eagles player who played 2 games for us and didn’t play in the finals.crazy comment.russell thompson didn’t come over for the money.he wanted to go back to perth after playing a couple of seasons for peel to get his life membership for perth but being the petty club they are they said no and he came to play for us instead.

Thanks Chaddy re points.. Still a bit confused.
Ok understand each club has 130 points WP has 120 due to penalty over salary cap breach.
Your saying EP will have 100 points due to their minimum non zoned players.
So taking WP for example.. Players from our zone are 1 point so the more zoned players we have the more we have to spread around.
We have Kerr,Jones,Marusic,Mascoulis imports on 10 points and Embley on 3 as from Swans. We have 6 AFL Players aligned which is 0 points as AFL players.

We have the ressies and colts who do not count as points as only league unless they play league then they come under the points system - Correct?
Now on our playing list from the Bouncedown mag we have 60 players and 6 AFL players aligned.SF/PERTH Counted 55 listed players as you quoted.. Cant explain the other 5 on WPFC list. Looked at players and they all seem to be current but maybe their original list allows for MINUS 5 players at start of season?

Now we have EP and Peel with up to 10/11 AFL players playing each week and they are all 0 points. That means those 2 clubs will have to include 12 players = total 22 in any game. So those 12 players must be within the 100 points is that correct?

100 points is a lot between 12 players whereas the other clubs must fit all their players into their 130 points = total 22. The G7 clubs will have no 0 players as they will not have any AFL players in their side so they must have all points players.
Ok zoned guys are only 1 point so not hard. Now from what I understand EP and Peel cannot recruit from outside of their zone and the 12 players they have must be from within their zone is that correct? So basically they will have 12 Zoned players within their team at 1 point per player. Now that will be 12 points. They can also keep the out of zone players 3 points and thats about it

My question here is where is the equity between the G7 and Aligned clubs surely it is unfair taking into account the Aligned clubs will have up to 11 AFL players running on each week at 0 points and the G7 clubs non.

Ok realise the G7 clubs will be able to recruit from outside of their zone but there is a limit to how far 130 points will go in this respect.
Hey its ok for EP and Peel to run on 11 AFL players yet the other clubs are restricted in how many imports due to their points restrictions!

So basically why dont they just shit can the whole points system? Because rich clubs such as Subi could then buy high profile players.. Ha safeguard called the Salary cap which once again is limited to the G7 Clubs yet the 2 Aligned clubs if they had to pay for PLAYERS of the calibre of the AFL players in their side would be 10 times over the WAFL salary cap…

GEE I downloaded the WAFL RULES AND REGS 2013 and whoever write the one for 2014 is going to have a interesting task but I assume the WAFC/WAFL will just put in what is convenient to the arrangement anyway..

Hey maybe I could write it as I have put a book on here

PLEASE DONT QUOTE THIS PAGE JUST REFER TO IT..

Now this is interesting put on by LA HINCHA a few months ago so a bit out of date possibly in some clubs..Will be interesting to see the same list next year

A post I put on THE RAID HAS STARTED topic WAFL THREAD..

Thought I would dig it up.. It Refers I think to Brett Raponi stating WP would be after Smith next year from EP..

Yep it was common sense because a lot of players wont get a league game with Peel or EP next year.. Gee makes for a dominating Reserves side doesnt it (almost a league side for the rest to take on so they would dominate League and Reserves :frowning: )

This extract from the article says it all as 10/11 players who are now playing for other clubs this year will be in the Alignment sides. That leaves 11 spaces for local players not on a AFL contract Not many spots.. Ok they will still have their list of 55? but most of them will play ressies anyway for the whole season. This would be UNACCEPTABLE TO PLAYERS WHO ARE OF A LEAGUE STANDARD! So they will look around as the article and many supporters say.
FUCK THEM if they can rip us off we can rip them off.. Unless of course the Mighty WAFC/WAFL decides to change the rules again and dont let it happen?

Just imagine if the Aligned clubs because they have all AFL players had to stay within a salary cap… HYPOTHETICALLY B) Of course the AFL players will not come under the points system.

The G7 Clubs must work within the Points allocation for each club..
Yet Peel and EP will not… imagine if they did and had points added for the AFL players?

Ha thats ok you will have 11 AFL players in your side worth 10 points each = 110 points.. whoops that leaves 10 points for the REST of the team.

Well in WP case none as we have been penalised due to Salary cap breach and only have 110.. E.g As a result, the WAFC has applied discretion when determining the penalty and for the 2014 and 2015 seasons West Perth will lose 10 points each year off its total player point allocation, reducing the total amount to 120 points.

Its ok WAFC/WAFL you just change the rules to suit yourself.. EP and Peel can breach the salary cap every year THEORETICALLY yet the OTHER CLUBS MUST REMAIN WITHIN THE SALARY CAP AND THE POINTS SYSTEM.

Level playing field MY ARSE

Extract from the West article above

Fremantle have had an average of 11 players in the WAFL every round this season while West Coast have had 10. While East Perth and Peel have confirmed that many of their senior players are contracted for next year, _The West Australian _ is aware of one player who has legal advice that his club’s AFL partnership may void his contract.

Hopefully another clean sweep this week against Peel before the double bye :cheer:

15 eagles played WAFL league yesterday. Doesn’t leave much room next year. Not sure how many played reserves.

They only were allowed to play 75min due to the Eagles playing this Thursday !
