WAFL 2026 In's and Outs's

Cicco was a master of the paper bag.
Maybe there is something to learn there.

:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

of course with both Peter Bell and Jeff Farmer being millionaires from their days playing
they really needed a tiny WAFL salary to play didn’t they
that was the year Chris Bossong played wasn’t it ?
You remember Chris Bossong don’t you mate ?

I remember the name, but can’t recollect much about him.
But just looked in the Bulldogs Unleahed history book.
From memory came from Perth, played three seasons at South ,09/10/11. Premiers 09.
Played 29 games.
Any more I should know about him.Maybe something for my footy site. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

the post was for Demons Forever mate
the brown paper bags were really for Chris Bossong when Perth paid him under the table
in big brown paper bags lots of them
didn’t they Demons Forever?

DF remember Perth were given extra salary cap money a few years back so things are not quite on a level playing field so to speak!

The WAFL has a competitive balance measure so there’s a few teams that have extra points and salary cap- SF had it last season (2025) by the way. Not sure where the scale is but is a 3 or 5 year average from memory. WAFL guy explained it on 91.3 one day

Luke Sanders WAFL Operations Manager. 16/7 this year on WAFL World. About 3/4 of the way into the show. Interestingly Luke was football manager previously at Subi before taking on the role at the WAFL so he would understand what advantage and disadvantage looks like from the inside.

Probably the only clubs that haven’t received concessions at some point in the last 5-10 years would be Subiaco and Claremont. Subi are receiving concessions in 2026.

Why are Subi receiving concessions.
That is a farce.
We have been shite for 48 years and everyone is complaining that we are receiving concessions.
The world is going stupid.

It’s probably taken Perth DF 48 years to finally get their recruiting right…Doddy seems to be on the money so far with his recruiting…literally.

Yes Doddy has been huge.
But the biggest surprise (nice one) is the passion and drive Barra has brought.
His ability to get things done is amazing.
I have never been more confident, maybe the drought is about to be broken sooner rather than later.
Hopefully in my lifetime.

Is 30+ still around?

Didn’t he change to 40+?

That’s because it’s taken 47 years to get a WAFL chairman not from the Western suburbs in there that’s not willing to turn a blind eye to a one sided boring competition and is doing something about it.

Hasn’t taken long. Livingstone moved to the departure lounge area 99. Be interesting to see where he lands. Schofield connection? Scott Moore Tassie VFL?

I’ve heard my mob is right in the mix as well for Livingstone. Nice of Doddy to throw a few Demons our way

Yes how ridiculous was it for Souths to get extra points and salary and boy did they use that to attract more players and dominate the competition. Can’t understand how they would have got these concessions ahead of teams like Swans who have been consistently out of finals in the last decade

Coen, Q and a Prendergast Medal winner?

What is the story with Livingstone, is he on the market of wanting to move on, also it is good to see that EP have kept a couple of the young players rather than let them go elsewhere!
