WA Cricket team 25-26

Its a panel of 18 umpire appointed at the start of the season and then they get allocated to the games. As far as I can seen there are no WA umpires on the panel

Really!!! How could the WACA allow that to happen?
You would just hope that the SACA umpies did not officiate in the game just finished.
Thanks Mike.

Why the fixation to bowl first at the WACA? Seems to be the choice everytime for Whiteman when he wins the toss. Surely you would put the runs on the board unless it is a green top which obviously it isnt given that Queensland have negotiated the first hour comfortably. If they go on and make 350 they can dictate the terms of the match. Not sure if the thinking is really clear from the WA heirarchy

Only just tuned in to watch the WA vs Qld Shield match. It’s as good as I’ve ever seen Cameron Green bowl. Bowling with great pace and bowled a peach to remove Lovell. Nasty full toss to welcome Labuschagne to the crease, accidentally of course. Just say that and he’s bowled a wild delivery down leg side for 4 byes. Question will be how many overs can he bowl and how will he pull up?

Must say I can’t get used to these black caps. Don’t know why they got rid of the gold cap, that represents WA for me. Was a Justin Langer move from memory.

WA need a miracle here, even just to scramble another draw, by the looks. Surely serious questions need to be asked of Voges?!!! We were poor in all 3 formats last year and nothing has changed so far this season. The message has either run dry, or the team needs a complete over hall as they look to be playing without much hope and desire.

Probably need a declaration from Queensland to try and open the game up. Why not? Both teams need the points but I wonder if WA would go for the target anyway given their lack of enterprise this year.
Hopefully Green can tick off his ton after lunch then score some quick runs. Great to see Aaron Hardie get a 50 as well

@mikeh Sadly Greeny missed out. Dismissed for 94.Hardie dropped in with a handy 55.It has been a while since he has had a big contribution with the bat I think.
WA declared 7/322.
Need to take plenty of early wickets to try to get a result.QLD 0/13.

QLD, 1/120 Uzzie 64 and Marnus 35.35 overs bowled and no Green Maybe been told not to bowl.

Uzzies not playing this game Anchorman?
Good fightback by WA. Hopefully with a batting lineup of Whiteman, Bancroft, Cartwright, Green, Inglis, Connelly and Hardie they make a good fist at getting whatever target the Queensland set them

@mikeh , Wooops, not sure where I got Uzzies name from. Thanks for pointing it out.

Well after the inspirational win over Queensland a couple of weeks ago, Normal service has resumed with a limp performance in the 2 days cricket in Adelaide. Trailing by 60 runs in the 2nd innings with 1 day to play, outright defeat seems likely
I am perplexed at the timing of Voges announcement so early in the season and I wonder what further impact this will have on the performances of the players. Sam Whiteman has probably had enough chances and needs to be replaced

@mikeh I too thought Voges decision as interestingly timed and i fear it will waste the season. I know Whiteman is captain but it looks like the game has caught up to him

Gutless cricket

Pretty much batted out the day losing just the 4 wickets but dropped back to last place with SA cleaning up the bonus points.
At least Goodwin, Cartwright, Connolly, Hardie & co showed some resolve with the bat but we are miles off playing in a Shield final this summer!

and they deserve that last place after that first innings
along with several other poor efforts this year
they desperately need to make changes up top to try get some momentum going
if we’re not losing immediate wickets we’re just too slow opening up and that’s causing big problems

Mitch Marsh is back in the WA squad for the one day game on Tuesday, as well as Joel Paris who has recovered from injury. Good to see Mahli Beardman in the team as well. One notable omission is Cam Bancroft. Unless he is injured I would assume he will be back for the shield game starting later in the week

Think he’ll be putting his feet up for the ODD,before padding up Thursday.

Positive news - the game is passing Bancroft and Whiteman so hopefully we’ll start to see new blood

Comfortable win for WA today to keep their hopes alive in the one day cup. Good bowling performance to restrict them to 285 on a belter then solid efforts from Curtis, Connelly, Whiteman and Turner to ensure the victory.
Now for the shield match on Thursday which will be a tougher proposition

Another ordinary start by our batsmen against VIC.
The hopelessly out of form Whiteman & Marsh already back in the sheds.
