WA Cricket team 25-26

Disappointing to lose that one day game yesterday after having Queendland 4-38 chasing 321. One positive was the century by Joel Curtis but that was rubbed out by poor bowling and fielding. That was a game that WA teams of the 2021-23 era would have closed out easily but sadly ii seems that the team has lost this strength.
Only one game and WA were very under manned but disappointing given the position they were inb

Only saw the result this morning. Last I saw was that they,QLD, were in big trouble.
I did not even see the WA team anywhere.
I am way out of touch with who is playing what with the local teams.

Bounced back today to beat SA in a one dayer in Adelaide. Half centuries from Fanning, Bancroft and Cartwright, then a 5 wicket haul from Paris and 3 wickets on debut from Albert Esterhuysen who looks a bit like a young Marcus Stoinis

What a pity that Joel Paris had the elbow problem. He was and probably still is a very very good quick.

yes could have played test cricket for Australia I reckon had he been less prone to injury. Could still be a chance in white ball cricket I reckon

a good win there
had a bit of a middle order stumble after being in a top position
but the bowlers did their bit nicely
the South African lad looks likely

Where are the likes of Marsh, Stoinis, Hardie and Inglis?

I think Hardie & Inglis are injured Danger.
Stoinis pretty much retired from domestic cricket now just a T20 player for hire.
Marsh not sure?

First shield game of the season this weekend…be interesting if Whiteman or Bancroft can put their best foot forward, by filling their boots, for the upcoming Ashes opener at Optus…horses for courses as they say…be good if a Aust had an opener from WA in that opening Ashes test.

@Freezin wouldn’t be much play today I reckon.
Had few heavy showers South of Perth. Not sure around the WACA.

Greens catch a blinder.

Yeah only 20 odd overs…that’s just about 90 mins play? Hopefully the weather picks up for days 2 -4.

Sadly Whiteman and Bancroft didnt deliver, Green got a start…WA in all sorts of trouble…chasing 170…

Very interesting game at lunch on day 3. NSW 4 - 55 in their 2nd dig, a lead of 64. Result likely despite virtually all of day 1 lost. Will just take one batsman to dig in and grit out a big score. Will it be Cam Green? WA would be hoping to bowl out NSW for around 200 then it will be game on.

WA need 222 to win this. Biggest score of the game if they want to win. Hopegully a voiple of big scores from the boys. As suggested by @mike, maybe it would be a bonus if Green was the one.
And speaking of Green, how was that gully catch. Something special. Two ripping catches from the big fella.

Considering the way the NSW tail wagged Anchor in their 2nd innings, one can only hope from a WA perspective, batting is far easier compared to Sat n Sun.. What’s the go with Paris…another injury?..Bruce Reid mark 2 sadly.

Paris went off with a hamstring injury after 1 over and didn’t return to the field

It was a huge effort by Gannon & Kelly to shoulder the load with fast bowling. The two spin bowlers the only other option. Green was meant to be allowed to bowl 4 overs, but didn’t. Cartwright carrying some sort of injury and can’t bowl.

Gee if I were the WA bowlers I would be asking for the match fees of all of the batsmen as well.
What a pitiful batting performance across both innings against pretty much a NSW 3rd XI.
I cant believe some were actually calling for Bancroft & Whiteman for Test duties.
Sheesh they wouldnt even be getting a game for WA if I was a selector!

@Beasley_Hutton makes poor reading.
