Season just about over in the shield and one day comp is now a forlorn task in which younger players should be persisted with. Where is Ashton Turner currently?
Good point. Did he injure himself in one of the early one dayers?
He played the first 2 one dayers then nothing after that
Heās injured apparently.
Shock horror a WA 50 run opening partnershipā¦Voges is probably thinkingā¦what was all the fussā¦and what do all these Oz Footy couch critics know about cricketā¦nothing to worry about or to see hereā¦the Bangers buffet is open for business.
Is Matt Kelly a Smokey for Ashes consideration? 19 wickets so far in 2 and a bit games.
Great day for the Warriors, finally the opening partnership worked on a pitch that appeared to get flatter as the day went on. Foundation has been laid for a potential 400+ score. The weather will be a problem on the last 3 days as there will be some interruptions with up to 4mm forecast tomorrow.
A pity there is no laughing emoji to make comment instead of just the heart @Freezin .Bangas gone on, made a ton.Green a six ball duck.
@mikeh Kelly must have his name beginning to appear somewhere.Been impressive with the ball.
Looks like Konstas is done, probably not even on the horizon any more for a while.
Konstas just needs to be left to sort out his head and technique, like Martyn didā¦mixed bag of results for Austā¦Weatherald, Green and Webster doing f-allā¦Smith, Patterson and Bancroft ton upā¦not that those latter 2 tons will have any bearing on selection for the Perth testā¦Weatherald and Renshaw will fight it out for the vacant openers spot⦠Labuschagne and Green fight for 1st dropā¦if Marnus gets a 50 +, then I reckon heās a monty for 1st drop.
Bancroft got some runs which was great but the rest of the team wasted the good start and the opportunity to build a big lead. 92 is OK but certainly not what they would have wanted at the start of the day. Several batsmen got into their 30s but didnt go on with it. SA have a chance to bat big today and set WA a target which should make for a good finish as long as the weather doesnt intervene
might be safe to say SA have got away at this stage
probably needed to take another 3 or 4 wickets today
will need to roll them over within the first session day 4 now
our dreary day 2 batting wiped away at least 1 session
Whiteman surely cant keep his spot in the team now, yet another failure at the top of the order!
perfect opportunity for Cam Green to show his class, score a century and lead WA to victory this afternoon. Probably would paper over a myriad of cracks including the Captains poor form but hey a win would make it feel better
Yeah Whiteman surely must be on borrowed timeā¦though Voges is a loyal fellaā¦Green definitely needs a scoreā¦but why isnt he batting at 3?..wonāt be batting 4 v Engā¦
Might not be batting 3 either if he fails again!
Green, another start, but did not go on.
Never really had any intention of giving the target a go. Just a net session for Green. Now they might lose the game anyway
As poor as we have been the last 2 seasons but sheesh the umpiring is woeful!
Good first day, very ordinary last 3 days. Lucky to get out of it with a draw in the end. How can a team be almost invincible 2 years ago but potential wooden spooners this season
To be fair to Green, that was a woeful decision to be given out caught behind. WA were pissweak not accepting the run chase, very disappointing- again.
Green & Curtis were given out off disgraceful umpiring decisions.
The SACAs even were surprised by the Green dismissal the keeper didnt even go up, whilst the Curtis lbw decision which was swinging down leg wouldnt have hit another set of stumps!
I asked the question in a post of mine previously, are the umpires at SS games, taken from the state the game is played in, or are they part of an Australia wide panel?
