really limp lifeless performance at 4 for 53
an absolute shellacking fast approaching this side here
4/103, Whiteman looks in good form, 42. Hardie playing a stick in there mode. Not over yet. Both loom good.
Sums up the last 2 years Southy.
The only positive for mine is the promising young fast bowlers we have in Jackson, Beardman & Esterhuysen.
Whiteman gone, Banga in. Makes it a bit harder. But Hardie looking good.
Fingers crossed.
Damn, Hardie looking to force the pace but caught on the boundary.
It’s a pity Abbott can’t bowl like that when suiting up for Aust. Just roll out the youngsters, give them a crack, yeah they most likely will stuff up, but who cares, they are allowed to, because they are young…the older more experienced sorts should know better, and have no excuses.
Whiteman and Hardie are really frustrating. They look million dollar players, the pss it up against the wall, to become could be.
Hardie looked like he hasnt bowled for years last night.
Only saw WA bat. Tuned in when the pair had just got together.
Didn’t Hardie have a good game with the ball in the SS game earlier in the week!
No that was his first game for the season in any format.
You are thinking of Kelly!
Cheers.You are right.
Ordinary
Barely first class
selections like deciding to play Bancroft at 7
better off trying a young bloke there
well the team needs huge leadership & guidance now from Voges
incredible to think two years ago it was near unbeatable mostly
just incredible
Another great bowling Performance to skittle Tasmania for 171, Haskett, Hardie and Kelly with 3 wickets each. Then another stuttering effort by the WA top order to spoil it all. How many more chances will Bancroft and Goodwin get before someone else gets a go?
mikeh, atleast Goodwin is the right side of 30 mate…unlike Bancroft and Whiteman…they need to be moved on before him. 14 wickets suggest the pitch was a good one for the bowlers…and historically that is the case in Tassie…Goodwin wasn’t the only batsman to struggle out there today…actually across Australia…majority of batsmen did, where ball had the better over bat, in all 3 games on day 1.
Still shaking my head as to Bancroft & Whiteman even being discussed for Test duties.
Both should be banished to club cricket!
They just run out of things to talk about I guess
WA sneak a 1 run lead…and WA also sneak a wicket on the stroke of lunch…this game could be done by stumps.
Speaking of openers, if Weathereld can score a 50 + here, it might help his case big time for a test debut…as this Tassie pitch definitely looks a bowler friendly one…a 50 there, is a 100 somewhere else I guess
I see where the one of the state coaches has said that so far, all the SS pitches have been set up for the bowlers. Mentioned the WACA wicket as being tacky. And the one which NSW is playing on now. He was making a case for Konstas.
Great knock by Weatherald, took the game on, when the game was in the balance, and the bowlers from both sides were on top…and Tassie had lost an early wicket. Unlucky to miss his ton, especially since Labuschagne looks on target to score his ton…his 2nd of the season coming up…but batting at 3…not opening. Aust needs an opener who can tick the scoreboard over…not sure Labuschagne can do that…Weatherald looks like he can.
Looks like a massive chase ahead of the WA boys.Tassie 5/227 second dig.
Pitch looks to be less threatening now mate or are the WA bowlers just knackered…plenty of time to chase a 300 + score…but I guess it is WA’s top 6 we are talking about here…one can hope I guess.
