Off-Season

Yeah baby !!!

Germans letter to members that I received yesterday was well written. He sounded very solid.

was that by email TFAF?
I didn’t get it.

Rumour on 6pr this morning that we might get Mundy..i know he is getting onbut would still be a class above in tbe WAFL and awesome rolemodel for our young guys.
Hope it comes true…did Mundy play under German when he was at Subi?

Hard mail with my membership package

That is an interesting rumour, Mundy is, what,37 ?? I agree he probably have a couple of WAFL years in him barring injuries. However, we must be careful to spend our points wisely and not jeopardize the prospects of getting other recruits who may be more urgent and more permanent.

As G. Shorrock once said, ‘hang on, help is on its way’

This where good decision making is crucial.
And I think we have some smart people making them.
We may be able to save points by recruiting good players from places other than VFL.
Don’t have a problem luring a guy like Mundy.
He will contribute on-field but also be very handy off-field.
Again our kids will look up to him.

Sounds to me like the Perth V8 is starting to wind over.

here’s hoping it fires on more than one cylinder for a change

Build it and they’ll come? Anyone got any vacant rentals? Rusty wants to hear from you.

How many do you reckon he will need. 5 or 6 ??? lol

So it appears Stack is not coming back to the club. Frankly, I’m happier taking the transfer fee, and I’d be happier still if there was any sign the club was planning on spending money on recruits. I hate to be a conspiracy theorist, but I note Stack’s manager is Peos. He represented Leggett, and made comments which were critical of PFC during that saga, as well as running a breach of contract claim so ludicrous its hard to believe he is an accredited manager. But he also managed English. So three Peos managed Perth players have wound up at rival clubs. We have enough problems to contend with without a manager who seemingly doesn’t respect the club steering players away from us. That said, of course, we can hardly claim to have earned the respect of Peos or anyone else.

You just beat me to it Ted. As soon as I heard Stack’s manager was that dog Peos I knew we had no chance.
However I don’t think Stack will be a significant miss. I can’t see Stack committing to WAFL training and playing. These blokes are great playing AFL but they tend to lose their drive when the pay packet shrinks.

If there is a clear trend here that Peos is deliberately steering players away from our club then there needs to be an investigation by the WAFC or in fact the AFL as I imagine they are bound by a code of conduct.

Any deliberate ploy to steer players towards or away from certain clubs would be totally unprofessional and surely in breach of a player managers professional obligations.

Would of thought Peos has PFC best interest at heart by actually steering Stack well clear of Perth then…

Perth have to get Stack back. Free hit really and a 1 point player. German and Priddis will get the best out of him

Our returning AFL players those few that have returned have been a disappointment for mine.
I would love Stack back at Lathlain but the success of it would have huge question mark over it.
I am shitty that English went elsewhere.
He has proved a very valuable WAFL player.

Seems Mundy may not being playing in the WAFL.
if he is coming to Perth it must be in an off field role.
Suggestion has been made that the tall forward, tall back and a ruckman have been signed.
Interesting to see what develops here.

Any 1 point player of that talent is worth going hard for. Imagine Stack and English running though our midfiled with Clarke and Byrna. I get Stack might bring trouble but at 1 point its worth the risk for 1 season. Ainsworth didn’t last long either and probably cost us a lot more.
