No Football Budget this year

So more importantly what are your thoughts on killing Foudantion Day as a long stadning WA only Footy Day…

Lets not forget that in the 70s and 80,WANFL Hosted all FOUR games on the MONDAY!

Deadset against it,Mate!

If I didn’t know any better,Cook and Co did it out of Spite to us,never mind the BS they gave us about the Weather.

Winter often doesn’t kick in until 2 weeks later.

I call it Show Day Mate,so we and the RASWA get to keep it,in case we do go down the Republic Path.

Whether you’re a Republican or Monarchist,we simply can’t lose this one!

Another way WA Football could save money to fund the Footy Budget is to get rid of the ridiculous 4 umpire system and go back to 2 umpires a game.
That would easily cover the costs and you wouldnt get the inconsistencies from 4 all looking to “make their mark”!

That makes FAR TOO MUCH SENSE,Mate…..

:+1:

Otherwise,calling Bensti.

You worked at Westside Football, did you not?

Got any old Mates to help you keep the Football Budget running?

In the 1350s, when the Byzantine Empire was dying, it could no longer mint its own gold coins.

In the 2020s, the dying WAFL can no longer always collect a gate on game day or print its own budget. Not can it determine where and when its grand final is to be played.

I’m a diehard WAFL fella, but I pretty much stopped using the budget. I’d always look at a download though, prior to the game. Mostly just for Sean Cowan’s article.
I just use the app, when it works

I still use them, given I amongst others are not Permitted to use Electronic Devices during a game.

So during a quick break in play,I wouldn’t mind quickly referring to a player(and where he’s from)who’s produced a great piece of play, especially new players at your Club or within the competition.

Can’t do that, fiddling around with an Ipad.

The weather was a BS excuse, its been in June for 100 years and zero fs given about the weather, in fact most derby long weekends were great days to get out and about to the WANFL FOOTBALL family and co in tow.

Its some politcal bs and to keep the AFL Monsters happy …not long and AFL Locals will be played on the day ..the rank and file will be watching the KINGS Birthday Clash at the MCG and not WAFL …As WAFL History legend Sean Cowan said it will never be the same again..

COOKED again.

Yes, zero Fs given about WAFL.

BARNETT had his faults, but he heart a WAFL Heart and Knowledge of the heritage.

He changed the name ..OK WA DAY but NOT the Date…

Got to be honest FROTHY I was the same in then end, as I looked around the SFFC Members hardly anyone used them anymore tbh…

Cheers Freeze.

Alan East?

Lost to us in 2018,RnB.

Shame.

rnb, I remember at an EPFC AGM a good few years ago, one of the diehard members mentioned (perhaps tongue in cheek) that Alan East grew up in East Parade, East Perth, so he had no choice but to be an East Perth supporter.
Alan was certainly a great contributor to preserving WAFL history, including writing books for East Perth (“The Royals: 100 Years of Football Tradition”), Perth (“From Redlegs to Demons”), and Swan Districts (“75 Years of Black & White”), along with “The Sandover Medal Men”.
