Carlton blues

The AFL handed Carlton a fine of $75,000 for the Elijah Hollonds debacle.

A bucket load of changes to mental health issues, but some are already saying that they will be hard to implement.

And also young Aiden O’Donnell has had his concussion compensation claim rejected.

I find this strange as I thought it was the AFL medical doctor that told him not to play again, or rejected his licence to play.

Ahh the AFL coming down hard on Carlton ( insert sarcasm)

Carlton revenue is $97 MILLION. For total incompetence they are fine $75,000, not even 1% of their revenue.

Too many people in “ high places” answerable to NO-ONE ( afl wise), and this is they result.

Absolute farce, should have been deducted points. But NAH, lets go the wet lettuce treatment eh

Well I would’ve thought Unk,that the ideal scenario for points deductions is when a club gets an unfair advantage over the rest of the competition, and playing Holland in his mental state was certainly a liability, and 75k was a fair fine for blues coaching staff incompetence.

$75,000 is a pittance, wet lettuce slap on the wrist.

Finding em points would advantage every other club IMHO.

Send a fair dinkum message, BUT no, AFL are a money driven organisation, these days running a mickey mouse comp, which these days resembles WWE rather than genuine SPORT.

Rant over… HA HA

I don’t know Unk,I can’t see too many clubs deliberately sending out mentally impaired players, which would prompt the AFL to implement big fine deterrents,it seems more of a one off situation to me.

Well, They AFL are reactionery NOT pro active. Even IF they didnt pick it up straight away, they still left him out for 3/4’s. Even oppostion players sussed it

And melbourne sent Petracca out , when later he was in intensive care, when the played collingwood. It;s a dead set joke, and purley a mickey mouse run BUSINESS

@Unkatwo Sadly Petracca wanted to go back on.

But it is hard to see how someone at Carlton couldn’t see there was a problem. It seemed that at some stages one senior person was concerned and appeared to speack to Hollands a few times.

It seems that the AFL have thrown a lot of ingredients into the mix but it also looks like they haven’t added anything to bind it all together. The Eastern “experts” are wary of what is proposed.

Ah yes the VFL

The disease that resembles that nasty rash

You got if you rode the town bike

The scab of a crusty pimple you tried too pop too hard

It will always be the 36 year old Cow palmed off as the finest yearling steer

Wrapped up in a gaudy make believe dress

When everyone knows it’s a turd in a paper bag
