C2,. Round 8

Well it’s good to be back after the bye and a chance for players to get in some rest! I hope you all survived the storm. Before the bye we had Belmont get the job done over Gossy. Canning Vale with a surprise win over ladder leaders Piara Waters. Basso got their first win against Balla. Kingsley too good for Canning. Valley absolutely went to town on cott.

I’m tipping Belmont to get up again this week over cott. The cott boys couldn’t fire a shot without there stars the week before last so it will be interesting to see where they are at this week. Belmont by 3 goals

Two old fashioned Sunday league teams going head to head. Big question will be if Gossy have there players back from fifo. Canning got touched up a bit and the young players hopefully would have learned a thing or two.

Canning by 23 points

Piara got caught sleeping and got out played by a hungry canning vale. They will know doubt bounce back hard and unfortunately balla are in the firing line. Let me ask you this… Piaras colts have a bye this week, would you risk the chance to maybe play a few?

Piara Waters by 10 goals

Kingsley will get up over basso. I’m sure the basso boys will have a little bit of confidence after there first win but Kingsley are about to bring these guys back to earth.

Kingsley by 12 goals

Valley v canning vale. . . My pick for GOTR. Both are probably the inform teams coming off the bye. A big test for both sides in this one as they climb the ladder. Can canning vale claim a big win away from home, or can the valley back up what they did a week ago.

Canning vale by 8 points

Good luck everyone

Welcome back KTB and hope you enjoyed the week off. Usually teams get a chance for a player or 2 to return about now and the next 5-6 weeks are probably one of the hardest of the season. Cold, wet weather and people find excuses not to train, teams without much depth get hurt badly and seasons can get ended or set up through this next month or so.

The ladder is looking great with 3rd to 8th separated by just 2 games so a win means you can climb and a loss means a massive fall.

Belmont Bombers Vs Cottesloe Roosters - Roosters missing a few got put to the sword last game and will look to regroup and put on a good showing this week but they take on a rampant Belmont who have been great after the first 1/3 of the year. Bombers by 8 goals here

Gosnells Hawks Vs Canning South Perth Tigers - The Hawks started like a house on fire but have since fell in to a big hole and not sure FIFO is the issue. Tigers with a big chance here to 2 games and some distance to the bottom 5. Tigers by 2 goals.

Ballajura Royals Vs Piara Waters Falcons - oh this one could get real ugly and The Falcons will definitely play some kids to give them a taste of senior football. I’d expect most teams are doing that by now. Some more than others ….. Falcons by 12 goals

Kingsley Kats Vs Bassendean Swans - Another game that could get real ugly and I know a couple kids are playing league for Basso that maybe shouldn’t be just yet. Kats to give out a mauling here by 10 goals

Swan Valley Vs Canning Vale Cougars - Been a great rivalry with these guys over the years in both mens and women. Valley dropping a couple so far they shouldn’t have and really have to impress the next 4 weeks to set themselves up for finals if they are to be a contender. Cougars with a monster win last time out over The Falcons will be licking their paws for this game. Valley at home by 4 goals.

Good luck all and enjoy the frothies!

A couple eye brow raising results from the weekend. Bombers by 53 over Roosters, Tigers by 69 over Hawks, wowee, Falcons by 22 over Royals, wtf, Kats by 60 over Swans, Cougars by 14 over Valley.

A little more than a couple on FIFO KTB down at Hawk Land. They need some players on the park by the looks and fast! Falcons by less than 4 goals over Royals after losing last week to Canning Vale suggests a few outs really hurting the team as well.

Getting a little mouth watering through the middle on what could happen next week!

Interesting what is happening down at the Hawks, Viper.

Colts are flying but the league could be in a relegation fight if things keep going the way they are. Defiantly a watch this space.

I know they keep taking colts to put a good team on the park and their colts would be a fair chance at a flag if all playing. Need their 5 games in to play finals but the worry is league. Came out flying and fallen in a massive hole. Did the same I think 2 years ago??? maybe last year. They just need some more depth by the sounds.

Rumour has it 4/5 of the blokes that followed the coach have gone back to Forrestdale. Not sure why

who is coaching at Gosnells?

Jeff, premiership coach with Forrestdale

Jeff Morris?

Yeah thats him

good bloke and decent footballer back in his day - he used to kick a beautiful torp, does he allow his players to practice and kick them during a game

I found 4 from Forrestdale who all played last round so that isn’t the reason for the drop off, if they have left. It would mean they only left this week.

Just had a look at the results/ladder. Did they just have a favoured start? Maybe the team just isnt good enough while still being better then the 3 bottom

yep, might have read the results wrong and they’re just not up to it.

Give the coach the rest of the year and even next and cant imagine he doesnt get Gosnells doing what Forrestdale did under him

Heard along the grapevipe a bit of an exodus down at Gosnells think there is a big watch on this space

Any reason why?

Reckon there is history here, over the years Gosnells either gain players or lose them in June depending on where they are positioned on the ladder

Their number one player and hard running mid Pescod is doing FIFO. Other star player Woodsy only played one game then got a transfer to Albany. Don’t think there short on numbers with fielding a 3rds side, but a handful of colts do seem to double up

Looking back at the results, their wins were not against top teams so I think just read the team wrong.
