Beau was previously WA’s batting and spin Coach. Judging from the past few seasons, he has a big job in front of him.
Good luck.
This was paying $1.01. Not sure why they even advertised the role to be honest.
Not sure i would have said bleeds Black and Gold,. He jumped to NSW quickly in his playing days.
Hopefully he is running the show now and Adam is there just as a bit of a sounding board for him.
A few spinners left WA because the wickets never suited them.Mallett and Jenner both jumped ship.
Casson has been within the squad for a fair amount of time I think. Just looked, 7 years. I would say he still bleeds Balck and Gold.
If he has been our batting coach god help us.
Hopefully we get a decent batting coach in now!
With Casson picked as the next Coach, you can’t help but wonder who the other applicants were.
Probably none…Casson will no doubt be loyal to the squad, and certain members within the squad…especially after 7 years…not sure he is going to go in there with a fresh pair of eyes in all honesty…hopefully I am wrong.
I’m not sure what changes are going to be rung, but Congratulations to Beau on his Appointment and Good Luck to him!
Mate I was told there were not many applicants
I believe Greg Shipperd didn’t bother wasting any of his time
Cronyism has replaced skillsets at the modern WACA
People like Dennis Lillee have been pitchforked
simply because they dared illuminate issues at senior levels of control
Until this board regime is disposed of
WA cricket is likely to be a closed shop of old mates
I am aware of a few very successful WA Premier Coaches who have been told not to bother applying for WA roles as they will not be considered due to not playing first class cricket.
Hmmm Chris Fagan never played AFL Footy..
Sadly that’s the elite sporting mind set…considering Casson has been part of the WA set up that has fallen off the cliff these past 2 years…what new / difference is Casson going to offer…or was Voges a my way or hit the highway sort of leader?
Looks like Mr Whiteman is a LOCK for next Season.
Geez i hope not.
Casson was the batting coach, our bats have been horrible.
I am with you Freezin, looking forward to see what is new / different under the new coach, If bring Whiteman back is in the plans i’d say not a lot.
From Wednesday’s West:
"Signing to play with Yorkshire has raised questions over Whiteman’s future In the side.
But Casson backed Whiteman to retain the leadership through an off-season review."
Oh Dear,…
